Correct, this way the OBD2 is left unoccupied.

Problem is the german customs. They will Charge 20% custom fees...

And I'm a little scared of installing it by myself. I am a complete dork when it comes to electronics and wiring... đŸ˜‚

No shame in being a bit apprehensive in unfamiliar territory. Any +12V shop or audio installer would have no problem installing this.

Kevin, does this mean with this new Passive/Invisible mode, it now works with Valentine One Savvy that also uses OBD II? Please say yes!

I would probably say not likely. Once the Savvy is plugged in, the EVC would detect it and enter passive mode.

I'll give it a try once we can get a Savvy-equipped M3/M4 in house.

You should edit this (and your instructions) to read:

Right Turn Indicator (single flash) = Exhaust Valve Closed

Was corrected in the technical thread, we'll get this changed in the OP. Thanks for the heads up.

Hey guys, in regard to this item is it correct that without the module, so OEM, the car already cold starts with valves closed? I installed the module and closed the valves, but it still sounds like a normal cold start. One of the reasons I got the module was with the hopes of slightly muting the OEM cold start by closing the valves before startup. I park in a concrete walled garage and was trying to be considerate of my neighbors. Maybe I have something set wrong?

The wastegates fully open in cold start mode, primarily in order to heat up the primary cats as quickly as possible. The EVC module has no control over the wastegates, a flash-based tune would be required to remove cold start.

Would this and a P3 gauge work at the same time? Also, I'm a bit confused as well as to what is different with the cold start compared to OEM. I'm thinking about getting this over the CG Precision one because of the potential to get catless downpipes in the future and the need for CEL and cold start delete.

Would have to say likely not compatible with the P3, sorry.

I noticed a couple "bugs" maybe. I have mine set to close windows/fold mirrors and open mirrors on start:

1) my mirrors don't alwyays unfold when switching on the car. They shut just fine, though.

2) when locking the car, the driver's side window always closes all the way before the passenger window; almost like the driver's side needs to close fully first instead of both closing at the same time.

Any suggestions?

On #2, it is a result of how the commands are sent, there us a slight delay between when the windows receive the instructions from the module. This may be changed in a later firmware update.

Thanks. What do you think about #1; maybe just try to update the software again?
