Haven't seen any weird behavior on our shop M4.

We'll see if we can recreate that you're seeing on the next install.

my EVC Module stopped working during the day.

Data LED is still blinking - but it is absolutely dead.
Exhaust valves are still working with the OEM setup (open up at sport and sport+).

Just wanted to try a update - can't find the MSconnect software anywhere at the MachtSchnell Homepage. Link from the first page is not working either...

Double-check connections to make sure they are secure.

Have you plugged the module into MSConnect to verify the program can communicate with the module?

If blinking, the module sees data. Were any new items added that communicate via CAN (JB4, P3 gauge, etc) that could be conflicting?

Let's try removing the battery cables (both positive and negative) and leave disconnected for ~15 minutes to allow system to power down. reconnect (negative cable last) and see if this allows operation again.

10mm socket to remove cables.

If you want to PM me your email I would be glad to send you some instructions.
Here are the main features :

Exhaust Valve Settings
- “On Demand” Exhaust Valve Control. Exhaust valves can be operated while parked or while driving in following modes:

-Exhaust Valve open at all times
-Exhaust Valve Closed at all times
-Auto/OEM Mode (factory operation)

EVC Memory Recall
- Exhaust Valve can be set to remember last used position or revert to closed position upon engine start

Active Sound Configuration
- The option to configure the Active Sound is available in a variety of options for suit one’s needs. User has the option to deactivate Active Sound permanently, or only to operate within certain modes: for instance, while with the valve flap open, or only with valve flap closed.

1-Touch Comfort Window/Mirror Closing Upon Vehicle Locking
- Comfort Closing will allow the windows and/or mirrors to 1-touch close upon locking automatically. This option can be configured to only close windows, only fold mirrors or close windows/fold mirrors together automatically.

OBD2 Cycling
- OBD2 Cycling is helpful when performing diagnostics or clearing engine codes on a programmable timed cycle. Also useful for those running off-road track setups.

Increased Halo Brightness
- For those equipped with LED headlamps, the brightness level can be increased by approximately 40% for maximum intensity while driving

Anyone? Does quiet cold start just mean start with the valves closed? Isn't this the OEM setting? Or are the valves open normally during a cold start? Any updates on a request I made a while ago about adding the possibility to start with thr valves closed and automatically open them after 30 secs to 1 min?

I have a couple of questions about the Macht Schnell EVC that hopefull someone can answer.

Q1
What exactly does the setting OBD2 fault clear do? And should I enable this setting if I don't what the dealer to see that I am using this device?

Q2
If I increase the HALO brightness by 40% what are the consequences? I mean why is it not configured as such at the factory, is it to increase lifetime?

Q3
I like the photos in the instructions (PDF) but what is missing is basically the final step and that is where I have to keep the EVC once all cables are attached and all? Can I put the EVC for example behind the panel so that it is not visible to the dealer when they hook up the computer? Or is it the intention that we use the velcro strips and attach the device to the bottom and not inside the panel? I don't want the dealer to see this device so does this mean that I am going to have to remove it everytime I take the car in for maintenance and there will be no way for them to tell that I was using such a device? Looking at the pictures I have the impression that a bunch of cables will be hanging out, or am I wrong?

Can someone share a photo where it shows the final installation?

Thanks
