An actual invoice from a BMW Dealership is attached on the earlier linked thread. I suggest you look at that. And after all that, the buyer found his service cut this month. $1465 down the drain. A new BMW ATM part number 84105A0FC29 ATM is $820.09 plus tax taking you to $880 in Charlotte, not the $500-$600 that you posted. It has to be installed by BMW as the info must be recorded in 2 BMW master databases. Even then, it still isn’t going to work as the unlucky person above found out. Besides an ATM to connect to your NBT EVO which you claim to already be retrofitted for CarPlay, the connectors and wiring are totally different. You need new wiring harnesses, CAN Filters, Quadlock changes, OABR changes, GPS changes and FSC Codes to name just a few. Your level of Connected Drive features and integration depends on what HW level the NBT EVO you retrofitted was. And if you are not proficient with eSys, you will need one of the forum sponsored coders to remote code for you on top of $1400-$1500. I believe @Kubax86 said he could do the coding with CarPlay etc for under $200. If you would like just a working ATM and none of the other stuff I purchased for my own family retrofit before a deer cancelled those plans, I’d gladly sell that for $900 and you go figure out all the rest to make it work. Again, you should re-read the linked thread very carefully. I’ve said it many times, this retrofit is not for everyone. |

It's gone for us old 2015 owners, deal with it and move on. Mine has been off for awhile and forget it was even a feature.

Did you try to bring in your car recently?
My visit was 3/11 and Im still waiting for a call back to return when the part is available. Kinda sucks cause i reverted to stock tune and removed my front lip for the dealer visit... Car feels bland with stock tune lol. |

I got this done in November. I work at a BMW center so I looked up the part number for the TCB and there are none available. There are 882 orders on current backorder. At the moment it doesn't look good. It may be months or even a year before these orders come in.

It’s still an ATM, regardless of what an outdated work order description says.
TCB only works with NBT. ATM only works with NBT EVO. Only ATMs are being replaced under the swap. https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=8M93-USA-04-2016-F80N-BMW-M3&diagId=84_1140 |

Here is the part# im waiting for to come in for my 2/2016 M3.
84 10 5 A0F C23 : B1BIRR-TCB2 From what i researched: Telematic communication box = TCB Telematic communication box 2 = ATM I cant fault someone for calling the ATM module a TCB... Its like calling a "EDC shock absorber" a "shock absorber". In a general sense the EDC is a shock absorber and the ATM module is a telematic communication box. I do appreciate the extra knowledge YASBBYM3. |

FYI, Just got a call from my SA. They received the backordered module and i will be bringing in the car next week.
I cant wait for it to be finished and get back to the BM3 stage 1 tune... The stock tune is not fun at all... Theres no torque until 3K RPM... |

I dropped off the car 9am and it was ready for pickup at 2:30pm. My SA called me mid day and let me know they found a tune and warned me that it might cause issues with the vehicle diagnostic and ATM programming. I said go ahead with it(i went back to stock tune and locked the DME with BM3 before giving them the car). All my settings are defaulted, i think they disconnected the battery for install. My custom coding is still there since i have 2020 istep and it only needs to be flashed if you have 2016 or older istep version.
BMW connected drive is working again. I can also see subscription options to purchase when i log into BMW website. Connected package and realtime traffic is available to purchase. Before the update, there were no subscriptions to purchase. Happy its all finished now. I flashed BM3 93 oct stage 1 tune with no issues. Last thing i have to do is reinstall my front splitter. |
