You being the bearer of such bad news comes with responsibility. If you are not going to provide a SS/pic of the notice than you need to further validate this rumor for people and provide more detail if you work for BMW. Help out the community and put yourself in others shoes.

At what status are orders impacted?
Is this for any new orders after a certain date?
Is this for pending orders without a scheduled production date (111)?
I just confirmed this with my SA who is also the owner of the dealership. He says it's true and can't explain why yet.!

Let's get some proof before people freak out. Not saying you're doing this, but I can imagine a scenario where assholes lie to try and get people to cancel their orders thinking that it would push up their own order.

Huge bummer if that's true. Seems surprising that BMW would not have done a better job forecasting.

I was build week 39 (Ordered my car Late August) and I got bumped up by two weeks and my car is set to be finished on September 19th. I have CF Roof, so if any delays happen or my car and its not finished by Sep 19th, I'll let you guys know.

Especially with the lame excuse that he'd get in trouble. He'd already be in trouble just for mentioning it and providing a photo of the bulletin wouldn't implicate him anymore than he already would be

I dont get it. Why do all u guys and gals think hes lying? lol like whats the point for him to come in here and start a lie of that caliber for no reason? I reAlly dont get it. I think most of u that fall into this category just dont want to believe it. Oh and btw, fot those of u who think "oh im still scheduled for week blah blah blah and no delays have yet occurred", I was told last tuesday my car was accepted for production at 11am, i was calling around 1pm. Two days later, i got pushed back 5 weeks. I was scheduled for week 38 production. So i can assure u no one is safe! Good luck to all, and btw, i was also told by my ca there r delays for adaptive suspensions. just sharing. Either way, i can care less, i will have a car within 5 days.

ok guys bad news. I was able to get a hold of David on his day off and he has confirmed what we all wished wasn't true and I can say he has confirmed that there is a delay and will be delaying productions until stock is replenished

Not to rub it in, but my car finished production yesterday. So the people who have ED/PCD confirmed dates I wouldn't jump off a bridge yet. You'll probably have priority over others.

The bigger question is: Black Wheels/Leather/suspension/CF Roof/CCBs have all had shortages. Who the hell is doing the forecasting at BMW?

Sell your E92 now. Rent a car until new one arrives.

Maybe true. Have to balance selling now vs waiting and determine $$$ involved.

Most likely reason is some quality issues that need to be resolved somewhere in the supply chain.
Hopefully it is not something that snuck into production since mine was built last week.

who knows maybe BMW will get it figured out sooner rather then later. I always think positive! but as of now its not looking good

sounds like BMW didn't anticipate such a high demand etc... but they will get it straightened out

The funny thing is most DD'rs would probably get more enjoyment out of the moonroof but the coolness factor has just taken over the practical side our our brains, mine included! Yeah, BMW sure screwed the pooch on this one. Sorry to hear this guys, hang in there!
