Hey guys. First time ordering a car. How do I track it? They told me it's a week 6 car but I haven't been given any production number or vin

call the dealer and ask for the production number ASAP

I've asked them twice since I ordered the car last Friday (6 days ago)...

called genius to get my status code (150, etc) and was told they aren't giving those out anymore.

but i did find out production scheduled to be complete 1/31 for my car.

Something tells me they dont actually have an allocation for you. I got my production number in an hour. Based on the order thread it shouldnt take more than a few hours if they actually have an allocation to order with.

i spoke to the sales manager yesterday and got a production number. when i put it in online this is the screen i get. he did tell me again that it's a week 6 build. does that mean it'll be completed week 6 or started?

Your production week is the week you car should end production.

I'm week 3 and my car started production Jan 9 and was finished Jan 19.

ask your CA to look at the progress on dealerspeed. he/she can send you the code.

genius tells you "we don't give out the codes anymore" but if you say "oh that's code 150 right?" they'll agree.

I called genius today and was told that my car finished production today.

Just talked to the genius guys... I was bumped from week 5 to week 7. Fine by me as I'd rather have the car in April given the higher probability of some incentive $ from BMW.

whatever you do. don't go look at the "is a camera standard on MY 2018" thread. seems someone there has some inside info on the m4 being produced in march this year, not july, for US market. and that the camera stuff is indeed standard..

Meh... I'm sure they will increase base price commensurate with the camera cost.

And if you really heart the camera just add it later yourself for ~$1K.

Congrats on being done. I checked earlier I was told I am schedule to finish tomorrow I am gonna be calling them tomorrow afternoon hope it will be done by then hope it gets on a boat next week I cant wait we gotta start looking up boats coming to port and getting ready to start tracking would be cool if we get on the same boat. ill keep you posted if I hear I am done tomorrow

does that mean your car is already at port and has assignment or its still awaiting assignment.

My car finished today also was told this morning it was going through precheck. should be at port by Tuesday Wednesday. i

Congrats. Just called BMW Genius and was told that my car left factory and is on its way to Bremerhaven. Your car should be there too by Monday. There are two Vessels departing from that port to New York within next 10 days. First one on February 3rd and next one on February 7th. Hopefully our cars make on that first Vessels. Fingers crossed.

nice sounds good i hope we both get on on the 3rd that would be great. cant wait i found a ship going on the 7th that we could also get on that is going to stop in ny.

Called genius, my production finished yesterday. I won't know anything further until Monday possibly, but I'm excited!
