Is BMW still producing the F80? Update: Production through at least 7/18

I know there's this:

https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1458446

But I was just told by a dealer here in the Toronto area that BMW is no longer producing the F80. I'll ask tomorrow for more details. Has anyone else heard similar?

M3 for NA should continue through October last I checked, but could be just for US if something has changed for Canada.

yeah don't have anything specific for canada other than a reputable dealer reporting as such. he's only got one car for me and it's the wrong colour so i don't think he's just trying to push me to move on one of his.

Mine is in production.

I'm glad I negotiated a great deal 7 months before my lease ends. Dealer couldn't do pull ahead. Instead they are doing a trade in which is a wash.

RE-confirmed with dealer and he said it comes straight from BMW Canada that they will not be taking any new orders on F80. BMW will build what is in the pipeline and the last cars will be the CS Special edition and that’s the end for a year and a half.

Good thing I just pulled the trigger on one on Saturday

If only 550 comes to the US and the assembly line opens for 1.5 years; how many of these BMWAG building for the entire world? Limited edition?

I do not think you read that right, he said that it's the end for the F80 until the next generation comes out 1.5 years later. Not 1.5 years of assembly for the M3 CS

Yeah I know that (see multiple past posts and usually 1.5 to 2.5 after the introduction of new generation). I was clarifying what the other guys said as he seemed to have misunderstood, whether correct or not. Should have been clear.

M3 end of production is October 2018, M4 will continue into 2020. Search this forum for more information.

Very curious on this as well, keep going back and forth on ordering an F80 m3 and could really use a few more months to decide! Thanks for looking into this.

It could be that EOP will be in October with significantly smaller number of allocations past May. We'll see.

Or it could be the CS is in production through October, and the regular M3 stops in May?

The reason this makes sense to me is that the new regulations do not affect the CS due to the low production numbers but does affect the regular M3. I can't imagine it is worth it for BMW to modify the production process for a 4 month run.

My guess is BMW may not formally announce anything but will only issue allocations for the M3 CS past May (until October) due to new regulations (which is why the drive shaft has stayed carbon fiber despite rumors to the contrary), or may send a bulletin in May outlining this plan rather than announcing it ahead of time.

who knows. We can only go off what BMW sends up. Most of the time we hear a head of time when there is any sort of change in norm. We are watching for bulletins
