Anybody experience "turbo lag" with BM3 tune boost by gear?

So when boost by gear was introduced in the Bootmod3 software, I played around with reducing torque in 1st and 2nd gears which I struggled the most with traction. It worked surprisingly well.

...problem was when going WOT, once I shifted into 3rd which I didn't apply any reduction to, there is a small annoying delay. It almost feels like a bit of turbo lag, like by limiting boost in 1st and 2nd, then once 3rd hit it needs time to fully spool up, it's a bit annoying not having that instant power feeling. If I turn off boost by gear the delay is gone.

I'm currently getting a custom E85 tune right now and I'm assuming my tuner is also using some kind of torque limit for 1st and 2nd because it hooks up surprisingly well with this much power but I noticed it has the SAME issue, slight delay once going WOT into 3rd.

Anybody experience this?

Turbo will take time to spin up from a lower boost target to a higher target as you cross from say 2nd into 3rd so some lag there is to be expected but if its very unusually long spool up (e.g. trying same RPM just in say 3rd and see how fast it spools) we can always review some logs and take a look

Awesome, thanks for the response PTF. I feel better knowing it's normal.

No lag at all when I'm in 3rd and just flooring it, it's a rocketship. I guess the trade-off for a slight bit of lag in 3rd for much better traction 1st-2nd is worth it.

Forget that man.
Max power 100% no boost cut, I wanna see you running 32 psi and traction control OFF! Go out there and get some!
