***BMS oil catch can "HOSE" issue...Public service announcement***

I ordered a BMS oil catch can for my F80. After trying to install it I come to find that the silicone hose it comes with is too small on one end to fit over the valve cover nipple. I tried heating it, stretching it, greasing it. God himself wouldn't be able to get this hose to fit the valve cover nipple. I was also told to slit the hose and use a clamp to hold it in place Temporarily till the new hose arrives. I tried that and wont work because there is not enough hose material to cover the nipple and I would have an air leak. I waited weeks for this to arrive and now it seems I will have to wait longer for a hose that fits to be made and shipped to me. On top of that I will have to repeat the install process all over again because of this issue. What really disappoints me is this was a known issue with BMS and the vendor I bought this catch can from yet I was still sold this unit, kinda sad. I wish the vendor and BMS would have been proactive and replaced all the defective hose before selling them to customers like myself. This is an FYI for anyone ordering this, make sure you ask your vendor if the hose is the right size.

Yes it looks like BMS accidentally shipped around 10 S55 OCC kits with
a 7/8" inlet hose instead of a 1" inlet hose, making it difficult to
install. They tell me they have a new batch of hoses coming in and
will distribute those to anyone who got the wrong hose hopefully next
week. One short term fix is to simply split the hose a bit to slide it
over and use a clamp to retain it, if you're mid install.

Note: I am not sure who your vendor is and whether it is me or not. Im just aware of this situation and thought letting you know would help.

I thought about that but this hose tapers down, both ends are not the same diameter. Valve cover opening is 1" and the catch can opening looks to be 5/8" or so. Not easy to find a 90 degree hose that does that.

They are working on new hose so it should be shipping out ASAP. I have about 5 customers affected unfortunately.

I have added them all to the ship replacement list. IF anyone has one one these hoses, even if not bought from us you can contact me and I can add you on the list to get them sent out ASAP.

Thanks for the heads up. I was intending to order this up after my break in service this week. Guess I'll wait until they get this sorted out.

**Update** Still waiting on the new tube to be produced and shipped to me by BMS with NO ETA on when it will be done. It has now been over a month since I placed this order with N54 Tuning and still can't install it. Needless to say I am not happy.

The waiting game continues.....

Agreed. Sometimes you have to vote with your wallet hence why I won't buy one until they have it 100% fixed before they ship.

The hose supplier sent them the wrong size for this product, again. So that introduced another delay in the process. Should be later this week. I have the addresses of my customers who need it and will email you the tracking once BMS has shipped them. And until then splitting the too tight hose and using a hose clamp is a viable temporary solution if you're stuck mid install.

BMS is usually pretty good about working with their customers. Sometimes vendor issues happen. If its a huge ordeal, return it (that would be what I would do) or go to siliconeintakes.com and see if they have a hose that works. They have all sorts of sizes and bends.

It was similar issue with BMS charge pipes as well. I had to remove my engine cover to install them, after that I think they have revised their design. Since I'm a foreigner it would be lot harder to ship it back. Moreover, this would mean that I have to pay customs twice so I just go around without the cover.

The hose tapers to different sizes on both ends. Besides I shouldn't have to buy a hose out of pocket to make this work or modify my old hose and risk engine damage. When item was sold it should have been checked to make sure hose are the correct size. This was a known issue both from the vendor and BMS yet somehow the item was sold to the customer with no mention of this problem until they go to install it.

Well put,
Plead ignorance and ask for forgiveness later despite the obvious.
Makes all my future BMS purchases questionable.

What also is questionable is the sponsored vendor I bought it from and considering this was a problem before I bought the item and hearing more others complaining of the defect, the way my complaint email was responded to its quite apparent they were aware and im now questioning the integrity of this vendor.

There are known issues with a few other BMS products that have been circulating recently. Don't buy any of their water injection parts.
I got to the point where I will no longer support BMS.
Their customer service is terrible. No phone number, just email replies that are never satisfying to correct the issue.

I ship BMS WMI kits and parts daily, their new nozzles are killing it. If there ever is a problem with a part they will replace it for you. Maybe you are just contacting the wrong person over there? They have around 10 employees now. What is your issue?

On the S55 OCC hose fitment issue it was just one of those things that caught them off guard. They didn't find out until 20 kits were out in distribution as there has never been an issue with the hose supplier before. Some kits with the wrong hoses wound up in my warehouse and other vendors and by the time we found out some had already shipped.
