Coding Easy Entry on a 2018 F80

Is it possible to code the Easy Entry feature on a '18 M3?
Did anyone here do it ?

Thanks!

Now I know two things. 1) It can be done, which is great. 2) I can't do it myself.

I need to find someone in my area that is good at coding.

Actually, if you get the BimmerCode app for your cell phone, this feature is relatively easy to code. The thread above tells you the parameters that need to be changed. The only extra step outside of the coding is taking the measurements for how far you want the seat to go back.

I did this mod and love it.

I do have a working Bimmercode app, and I used it to change some settings, but never in Advanced mode. I will need to do more homework about coding Easy Entry in the actual code before I attempt to do it.
Thanks for the pointer.

I have question about the feature itself.
How does it work once coded, does the seat move back when you turn off the car? once you open the door? Does it only control the back and forth movement of the breast or can it also be set up for things like height or recline?

No I don't. I do have the Bimmercode app installed and working.

From the link posted above (which is what I used to code this feature on my car as well):

"This testing process worked for me after coding variables:
1. Door closed, Seat at driving position, Ignition ON
2. Turn Ignition Off, open door. Seat moves back
3. Close door, Turn Ignition ON. Seat moves up"

It only controls the back/forward motion of the seat - not the recline. Also, the distance the seat moves back/forward is fixed. So in other words, the seat will not go back to one of your seat preset positions. Whatever the position the seat is in when you turn off the car and open the door, that is a position from where it will move back and return to.

Now it makes sense. Thank you!

It can be done easily, if you get the cable ($20) and the E-sys software (free from this forum). Once you learn to program 1 feature, you'll be able to play with many other ways to customize your car. The sticky thread up on top is very comprehensive, and Shawn is always very helpful. One doesn't have to be very computer savvy to do this.

I'll add 1 more: As the seat moves forward, if you engage the gearbox, it'll stop moving. That is the only thing I don't like about it as I have to sit there waiting for 2 seconds before I can drive away. I guess it is for safety.

I wonder how would this work with a manual transmission. I Usually start the car in while 1st (clutch in).

I guess if you pop the clutch in too early, the seat will stop moving. (Remember DCT is NOT automatic, right?)

I have a 6MT. Engaging the clutch does not stop the seat from moving - after all I have to press the clutch to start the car (although the seat does stop momentarily while the engine is cranking). Putting the car in gear before the seat finishes moving, however, will stop the seat from moving. If that happens, you must either manually put the seat to where you want it or use one of your stored pre-set positions. I start the car in neutral out of habit and don't engage 1st until I am ready to drive off.

I have found that my normal routine of getting into the car, starting it, seat moving forward and driving off works just fine. In other words, I don't feel like I am awkwardly "waiting" for my seat to finish moving before I drive off. How long that wait is, of course, is determined by how far you want the seat to move. I actually have my seat move farther back than what the link above has you code. It is perfect for me since I prefer a driving position closer to the steering wheel.

The distance that I have the seat move back not only makes it more comfortable to get in/out of the car, but it helps to keep some additional wear/tear on the seats getting in/out of the car.

Easy to code locally or remotely. I can do remotely or recommend local individuals. PM if interested.

Works on mine but not sure with the latest software updates. Can’t imagine why not.

Hi, would I be able to get the seat to move up upon door closing without turning ignition on? What do I code to do this?

As far as I know, no. The ignition must be turned on in order for the seat to move forward.

That sucks, on my '15 F82 it worked upon door closing so that is what I got used to.

Been trying to find the lines to edit how far the seat moves back in my 2018 F80.

I already coded:
3000 EINAUSSTIEGSHILFE set to: Modus_FA_SLV

This enabled my easy entry function. Only issue now is that it moves too far back.

I've been searching for these two lines but no luck finding them:
3012 EAH_VERFAHRWEG_SLV_PHYS werte = 00, 3C (60mm)
3012 EAH_SCHUTZFREIRAUM_HINTEN_SLV_PHYS werte = 00, 0F (15mm)

Am I supposed to be looking somewhere else or did BMW take them out?

Thanks for all the help, very much appreciated.

BMW could have taken them out or "moved" them, which I have seen before. In my case on my '17 M3, I had SMX modules, which were the seat modules (one for driver and one for passenger) which is where those parameters were located.
