No regret strategy. And I agree.

Couldn't agree more. You've got me beat though, I only racked up 34K in 1 year of ownership. My commute is 40 mins one way. I couldn't imagine being stuck in a boring/average car each day for that drive.

BM3 going on when my odometer hits 50,001

Aaaaaand the risk of having it as a daily driver reared it's head within a week of owning it.....got a flat (rear passenger) on the way to work this morning

No tire warranty but they only had about 5-7k miles left before they needed to be replaced (bought with 17k miles) anyways so it's not that big of a deal. But I was scrambling trying to find a shop in Houston that had a set of the 666M 285/30/20 in either the PS4S or PSS in stock since I needed it replaced today. Life is funny

Still one of the best daily drivers I can think of though

the tire replacement doesn't worry me. Its the fact that if you're lowered and have an m performance kit.... pulling the car onto a standard trailer is gonna scrape things up. That happened to my lowered f30 msport (front bumper and exhaust tips scraped) . I would cry if that happened to my f80.

I honestly feel bad daily driving mine. It's wrong to have such a great performance car sit in traffic, stuck behind a bunch of POS cars. It reminds me everyday how I should be out in the mountains driving this car and enjoying it to its full potential, like I used to do several times year, but instead, I'm stuck at a stoplight behind a 2003 F150 and dodging road and building construction debris all over my city. Unfortunately, with soon-to-be two kiddos under the age of 3, I won't be doing any mountain drives or driving events anytime soon.

Yet my wife won't allow me to get rid of the M3, which is two years old now, saying "that was my dream car" she let me buy in 2017 (pre-kids) and "I'm never going to be happy" because I've been wanting something more comfortable and that makes me feel less guilty about wasting it in commuting traffic. As of right now, my M3 is driven three mornings a week to work, under 15 miles that takes me 45 minutes to an hour on bad days. Other than that, it's the occasional errands on weekends. Then it just sits. Sad. I feel guilty.

Ideally, I'd like to get an M550i, S6, or CLS53 now, more comfortable for daily commute, but I'd take a bath on depreciation of my M3, not to mention the aforementioned wife factor. I realize this post is first-world problems, complaining about my $80k car, but the fact is, kids change your lifestyle, and I bought this car because I had so many great memories of my E46 M3 in my younger days.

My first daily supercar.

I always had 2 cars personally. One was my DD and one was my toy. My last DD was a 2018 Jeep Wrangler, and toy was an i8. When I looked at how much I was paying for the i8 considering I drove it once week, just didn't make sense. My wife was like, you pay so much for that car. At least if you drove it. Problem is, my OCD is really bad for having a nice DD. However, the M3 is helping me transition into accepting that a DD will get stone chips, scratches, bumps, mileage, etc. At least I am enjoying it every single day.

It honestly doesn’t bother me. I still find my opportunities, and I love being in the car and doing the “look back” when I get out. But I am enjoying the Raptor urban assault vehicle a lot. Now I aim for the potholes and speed up

Its hard for me not to DD the M3. Only had mine for about a year now and done a lot of road trips, snow driving, daily commute and track days. Its not going to sit and appreciate like some other cars so might as well use it and create awesome new memories with it!

Agreed! My M3 is my DD and easily put 20-25k miles/year on it along with some track days.
