subscribed for updates (particularly details on the spring rates). this is an interesting option for those of us looking for a very modest drop and hopefully close to stock comfort

Although I consider a 25mm drop not that modest

true, but the available drop is 5-25mm. I would probably drop it somewhere in the middle. still not sure if I'd do that.

I'll probably just wait for the ZCP and if that offers a better package, I'll find some second hand struts off a ZCP car.

It is good that it works with the EDC and this is the OEM part. I hope they will offer this like an add-on part lika KW HAS kit + programming the dampers. We can add the camber plates and go to the track without getting the coil overs with no EDC function.

Interesting that there is such a long wait for these. Since KW has already had lots of time on the HAS kit, why the delay? Is there anything inherently different between KW's HAS and the BMW M-Perf ones that they will be manufacturing?

I think that there's some confusion as a result of bmw (and dinan) calling these kits "coil-overs". The other thread showing the full gamut of MP parts mentions availability of both springs and coilovers. With the former having a late 2015 release date and the latter coming mid-2016. It also mentions price points of $1000 and $3200.

Bmw are referring to these springs as coilovers, but they can't cost $3200. No way. So I'm guessing that these are indeed "springs" (not coilovers) and will be available in late 2015 for around a grand. In mid 2016, week likely see a true coilover kit (similar to the M2 kit) for around $3200

Interesting, and do wonder if they will have a EDC coilover set-up that directly competes with Bilstein's Damptronic offering that will be available est. Q1 2016. Or did they specify their offering will work with EDC already? Maybe I didn't catch that.

The $3200 price mentioned earlier in this thread is about what Bilstein is set to sell theirs for. Another twist could be BMW is using white labelled Bilstein Damptronics and repackaging as a M-perf part, they've done this before with other parts so it wouldn't be surprising...

This is pure speculation, but I'd wager that the coilover kit is intended to be a replacement for the OE passive suspension setup, while the springs are intended to compliment EDC. The coilover kit will probably not interface with the factory EDC electronics, but either kit will probably work on any F80/F80.

Again, purely speculative on my part

After speaking to the guys at the BMW booth, they said this would be a sleeve over, which would be using your stock assembly, much like Dinan does. I mentioned Dinan, and Jake and the other BMW agents who flew in from Germany said pricing shouldn't be much different from the Dinan sleeve-overs which are $1600 at the moment.

I'm sure other available sleeve-over/spring kits are great, but this product makes much sense to me than a whole new coil-over. No one better to use their own stock suspension than BMW themselves, instead of a third party product installed over a BMW shock/strut assembly. They know their own R&D.

This is also much better in terms of warranty claims. Even with Dinan considered.

If I remember correctly, they are hoping for early to mid 2016 release.

I'm sure this is just speculation and who knows what BMW might actually do. They've surprised us before, but what they said makes sense for the time being.

agree with the above. using OEM is 100% better. full coverage, one place to go to deal with mishaps/problems, higher resale value, etc.

Thanks for the info. This will effectively cut Dinan out. KW played their cards effectively on this one.

This has got me reconsidering the Dinan "coilover" set up I was originally going to go with. I might have to wait it out and try these instead.
