Is there a consensus on a good low dust pad?

Taking delivery of my M3 this week and I will probably be looking to swap out the brake pads to something that is low dust. Is there a consensus out there for something that accomplishes this without sacrificing stopping power or noise?

Thanks!

I have the EBC red stuff and I am very happy with them. If you order from AutoZone, you can often get 20% off, look online for a coupon.

How does it compare to OEM pads?

Good stopping power and very low dust, much better than stock. And no squealing.

I've had the Power Stop Z16 ceramic brake pads 16-1656 and 16-1609 on my car for a couple of years. They've been great! Literally 99% less brake dust than stock and has identical stopping performance to the stock brake pads and are quiet. They're super cheap too - like $28 and $25 respectively for front and rear pads on Amazon right now.

My rims used to get dirty after 1 day. They now look very clean even after weeks of not washing the car. Best and cheapest mod I've done to my M3.

The downside to low dust pads are less sustained stopping performance and poor cold weather and wet weather stopping ability. For the former, you might not notice if all you need is one hard, emergency stop, but if you drive in tight twisties regularly, or go to the track, low dust pads will not help you at all because you're compromising one thing for another. I speak from experience, buying some ceramic pads so I won't have to bend my lazy ass over to wipe my wheels off as often, but it ended up not being worth the threshold braking power that I gave up in doing so.

Agree that the compromise is reduced stopping power under stressed conditions like on the track. There was a lost on the F30 forum about a member who had the power stop E23 pads which gave out on the track. I don't spend time on the track so this is less relevant to me.

Anyone try akebono pads?

Stoptech Sport has slightly less and dry type of dust. Much easier to clean off the wheels.

Porterfield R4S is another good choice.
