Black Forest DCT shifter 👍🏼👍🏼

Saw them post about this a few months ago and had been waiting to order one.

Ordered it last friday and it arrived yesterday.

Very very nice quality and changes the look of the center console completely.

The color I choose may not be for everyone but suits my taste just fine.

No. I just took the OEM shifter apart and compared the new parts it was simple enough to figure out. Once all the parts are in front of you.

No. But the paint they use has a reflective quality and looks good IMO.

You are able to unplug it from the wire harness, and tuck the wires under the trim out of the way.

How much of a pain was it to install the boot? I have been eyeing this for a while as I like the boot and big knob but not sure about the boot install and losing the lighted shift knob...thanks for posting

The install is very easy. And the after visual is worth it.

Would you mind writing up a quick step-by-step of your process?

This is interesting... If I hadn't just bought CF knob/surround, I'd think about this...

I heard that they will be releasing a how to soon.

But till than if you look up the carbon fiber shifter trim install you can see, that after you unscrew the led board you can un clip it from the harness, which allows you to un screw the t10 torx screw that hold on the oem shifter.

The difficult part is pulling it off with out damaging the led harness. After that the new shifter is pretty easy to install.

Just make sure you use the longer set screw to center the mount in the factory grove at the front of the shifter.

I think this is all the info I needed. Many thanks!

My brother in law has one in his car, I almost pulled the trigger on one in drunken stupor but then remembered that a few months ago I paid for the Mperf shifter. Now I'm going to have to sit in his car again and see if it feels better than the skinny little shift knob. If it lit up like the OEM one I'd buy it right now
