Tuning for 2018 M4 Competition?

I was chatting with the boot mod guys about getting a tuner and they said that the most recent 2019 update of the software blocked all flash tools.

So I guess no boot mod for me? is there a thread around discussing this?

Also... what does everyone else recommend for tuners that would actually work?

From what I understand the March (or even now November update) thing only effects the newer model cars with that update. Cars previous to 19 (I believe) can update with the March update and still be flashed. Your best bet is to buy the $15-$20 ENet cable and connect to Bootmod3 to pull your software ID's, then contact BM3 support with the info. They were pretty quick to respond and very helpful. I have a 20 M4C so Im SOL right now

I'm not sure if that would work. When I was chatting with their customer service they only recommending removing the DME and mailing it to them, haha

I just flashed my 2018 using MHD yesterday without issue.

JB4 is fully compatible with all models including 2019+, we have one installed on our M2C. Their FAQ explains the differences between it and a flash tune.

Bench flashing still works. Contact PTF/Bootmod3 for a bench flashing facility near you.
