BMW still doesn't have an answer to SL, AMG or reg strength. No answer to the S63/65 AMG, and no answer to the SLS, and it's upcoming replacement the GT.

Greed has a way of making one lose their way...straying from the path so speak....down the pathway of market shares.
It's only when they realize that they either are spread too thin, or have diluted the M brand that they will realize.

Mercedes had their issue a few yrs back, when it came to quality control and also the burden of the aquisition of Chrysler.

I don't know how they are going to make M7 better than the B7. Maybe consider a bi-turbo v12 like the S65AMG?! The 7 is a prestige series and we don't need a M car for that. First, it's not sporty cuz it shouldn't be; second, an executive car don't need to be fast, just secure and comfortable is enough.
You have to remember that there is a market for it, otherwise Mercedes wouldn't have been selling the S65 for the past two generations (not including this new gen)...An M7 would be a damn welcome edition, and it would possibly push Audi to make a RS8...and Lexus to make a LS-F....imagine 4 high powered Full sized sedans for high powered execs to choose from? All of a sudden, the Porsche Panamera has company, and all of the alternatives look better.

I absolutely loathe the GT cars. They are nothing short of hideous. Arguably two of the most unsightly cars being sold today.

Want a sedan? Get a sedan. An SUV, get an x3 or x5. A wagon? Get a wagon. With exception to the gran coupe, I think hybrids rarely end up being good looking.

The only unannounced M cars that I'm interested are the M2 and the Z5M. There has been plenty of speculation on the M2 to date, but not a lot on the Z5M. Scott, when will we get more info on this car?

Agreed! I would love to see an uptuned version of the N74 V12 in an M7. Developing that engine and only putting it in the 760i and Rolls Royce Ghost has to be a big drain on R&D costs. Put a revised DME and a new exhaust on that thing, Bring it up to 650+ HP and you've got your Hypercar Engine. Hell, stick it in the i8 and call it an M8.

Lmao I mean seriously. I'm still looking forward to the m235i and that's pretty much it that excites me about future product.

I been wanting to try an Audi s4/s5 for a while it's just getting more and more tempting.

Maybe a CPO 2013 cayman s. :-/

Is that a confirmation? I haven't visited the 2 forum for a while but I thought the M2 was just speculation? Scott26 probably can't answer that but I take it as a very good indication.

Ohh here is inside the trunk just in case you were wondering. I was also able to transport a Sony 70" LED TV in here, of course out of the box. It fit perfectly.

Congrats on your GT. We will be getting a Black Sapphire M Sport in January.
Thanks Scott26 you will love it. It is a really versatile car. Perfect for me, I am divorced with two kids and needed a bigger car. I didn't want an SUV and didn't want an station wagon. The sedan didn't have enough space. I can drive responsibly when the kids are with me and still be able to punch it when a jackass is on my ass on the autobahn. Kinda feel like Goldilocks, the size was just right.

M7 would be lame.

They should make M performance everything, formally adopt Alpina to make highway bruisers and save true Ms for cars you would take to the track.

That would allow BMW to have their cake and eat it too.

seems like M division is more looking for what sells more and what brings back more money. they aren't considering taking risks. they aren't looking for customers satisfaction anymore.
I really can't see the issue behind manufacturing a super car !! where is the problem ? LOL
not expecting it to sell much ? other projects may sell more ?
Are they really thinking in this manner while BMW is one of the top selling brands worldwide !!
what I'm sure of it's not of course technical limitations.

Was meant to mention that too. Can't have an M3 GT and NOT a Z4M (or an M version of the new Z roadster whatever it may be called).

Granted, this current Z4 is a bit more comfy and civilised than the previous Zs but still it is the closest thing to a sportscar BMW currently offer and the best platform for an M model in my opinion. Yet, no Z4M.

So, like many people said, cars such as M2, M4GC, Z4/5Ms even M3 Touring should take priority over an M3 GT.

Of course we are just enthusiasts so what do we know.

Ladies and gentleman.
I have to believe in yourself and buy the car you have always been faithful.
Each person acquiring what you like the most.
I personally I have trouble understanding the GT philosophy and not buy a car of this design but there will buy and who you a have to respect that.
BMW is locally analyzing their way to expand their economic character issues, but must care product that adds an M version that could be contradictory and damaging to the company, to be agreed when they bought the Rover brand if indeed turned something beneficial for the BMW group.
I think the 3 Series models is the key point of the philosophy of the brand is the one that led the company to success for many decades and it should not be played.
I understand that BMW want to continue with the advantage over Mercedes and Audi massifying products, do not cannibalize the brand M, should be more selective, but you must understand that in this life and we all know sometimes you win and others lost, in work, in personal relationships, family relationships is reality.
