My First M: Tanzanite blue F80 finally delivered!-***updated pics page 10

Hi everyone,

I've dreamed of having an M3 since my Dad took me to auto shows a long long time ago as a kid and I sat in an e30 M3 at the DC auto show in the late 80s'.

I was that kid, who would sit in them at the auto show and "pretend" to drive places like the beach, school, etc. and shift thru the gears until other people starting banging on the window. I never thought I'd have the chance to get one.

My first car i paid for myself was a 96 civic EX, then I moved on to an Rx8 in 2004. Loved the Mazda. Two kids created a need for more backseat room, so I got a F30 335i a few years ago. It was a great car, but it was missing something.

I've worked hard over the years, but I still was nervous about getting this car afraid that I was spoiling myself... why do I need it I asked? I should be happy with a 335, it's way more than I could ever have dreamed of as a kid, so why do I need an M3?

Well, I think I know now. The car simply put, gives me so much sheer joy. I can't really explain it other than that.

Also, It's my first m3, but who knows, it could also be my last...I've got kids of my own now soon my time and money may be even more consumed by them. So I figured I've worked hard, why not do this now and enjoy it. I'm so happy as I know I made the right choice!

Ordered October and here it is, thanks to Angela at BMW of SS for all the help along the way as well. I'll get better pics later once the weather gets better here in the east coast.

I got the stainless steel pedals put in as well as OEM black kidneys as well.

Mods? I'm thinking perhaps CF diffusor, maybe the blacked out IND side grills but honestly I like keeping it simple. Considering Kw HAS OR Swift Springs, so far fine with the Adaptive since its my daily.

Before you scream "orange reflectors" my personal humble opinion is I'd rather see an orange reflector than a painted rectangle-it reminds me of seeing a blank dash button inside the car. That's just me though. I wish there was a clear or slightly smoked option.

I second that comment. Everyone and their mother has black rims on this car. Silver rims look great with Tanzanite blue.

Beautiful! The first tanzanite I've seen with silver wheels and it looks much much better. This blue is too dark to pull off black wheels.

There isn't a single thing I'd change with that car, well, I'd have sonoma beige but it's damn near perfect.

Thanks! , I built so many versions it's a bit pathetic. Was actually going to go SS/SS for a while until I saw tanzanite.

Funny you mention Sonoma beige...was the last thing I debated back n forth..came down to our jetta having a tan interior amd didn't want it to be too similar , the SS also to me at least gave a sporty edge.
And yes , save the silver wheels campaign is a good one!
