Avus blue was also available on the e39 M5 for MY 2000 before being replaced by Lemans blue for 01 to 03.

Why the hell couldn't they have used a normal blue like this in their color line up for the M4. All my life I wanted a shiney blue car like this and when I finally could afford one, all they have is vomit blue. I just went with the white sadly. Oh well.

Reread what i wrote... In general i find it odd for someone to refer to a color as "Dated" or "out-dated". It's a color, they're not generally defined by a time. Right off the bat one could say Avus resembles MCB, Lemans, Interlagos and numerous others. All of which are from different years.

And yes, everyone is entitled to like or not like a color...no issues there.

Avus has a nice subtle pearl in it that can't be seen in these pictures. its a beautiful color. now in pictures it just looks like many common blue hues from several manufacturers which i think is why it can be considered "dated" anyways i'm sure it looks fantastic in person.
