Looks great! Curious though, why are cars so expensive there? Is there just a very high import tax?

Looks cool.
They removed the carbon fibre bar ,which isn't difficult ,had it removed before to instal filters too ,then they cover the parts that shouldn't be painted with painters tape and newspaper ,then they proceed to spraying I think

Yeah high tax also we need to pay for this thing called certificate of entitlement for every car u purchase ,that alone already costs around 40-60k usd ,the main reason being we are a very small country ,so the expensive tax for cars is to sorta discourage people to buy cars =less traffic jams

How much is USD did the car honestly cost you? I don't believe it was as much as they are saying.

What's not to believe? Not every country works like the USA.

A VW Passat in 2012 cost USD $152,000.00.

They did a great job but masking with news paper??? Regarding the price of the car, I used to live in Asia and when you see supercars you know they have deeper pockets than the people with supercars here.

Also, how did they paint the engine bay without removing the engine?

its called frozen blue metallic W91 (paint code)
they covered the parts that aren't meant to be painted with newspaper and tape etc , then slowly painted the engine bay , if u google " paint engine without removing engine" , you should be able to find a few examples

Nice job! In fact, it looks like your painters are doing a WAY better job than BMW in light of the pictures some of the other people have posted showing their BMW individual cars where BMW missed painting things like the interior of the trunk and hood, etc.

Since it's not painted in the U.S., hopefully, they used some toxic, environmentally unfriendly, oil based, super durable paint rather than the water based, super easy to chip paint most mfgs use nowadays.
