I dunno, the 6spd shifter in the M3 looks like a giant black fist you'd see at the erotic store... LOL... not that enjoyable to drive manual. Had manuals for years cuz the auto box was slower and now that they are way faster there is NO reason to have them. Hopefully will be phased out.
Sounds like a personal problem !

Getting old sucks!

I'll take a DCT one of these days.... But until then give me a manual.

PS. Just read a story where the take rate for a DCT /automatic is DROPPING in the U.S...

PS PS. Next time you are at the erotic store , go ahead and pick up one of those " black fists " for yourself. Just start small and work your way up ! :

Yeah, that's crazy. I lived in Australia for two years and couldn't believe the prices there. Paid $68,000, $5000 off of MSRP for my new M4. Think most of it is taxes down under.

Monte Carlo Blue $3400 but you also have to pay $5oo special order fee,so
$3900 CDN

Laguna Seca Blue $3400 and you have to pay $500 special order fee,so
$3900 CDN

Estoril Blue $2400 and again $500 special order fee,so $2900 CDN

I would assume Estoril is cheaper because they are painting regular 3 series cars in Estoril Blue at the Regensburg plaint,so it costs BMW much less money to paint the car.

I don't know why it is so much less in Canada to order an M3 in individual colors than in the US but if you look at how low the Canadian dollar is right now compared to the US dollar,it is a very good deal.

As a reference,I only paid $2600 CDN when I ordered my individual Estoril Blue 2005 M3 and that included the high gloss shadowline trim, which was a $795 option on the M3.So it really only cost me $1805 CDN for the paint.

I didn't order the car yet or decide on a color because I still plan on ordering the M2,when BMW Canada releases ordering info and pricing for the M2 in Canada.

The Nardo Grey looks good but I wouldn't pay $5000 for that individual color.
Interesting. An Estoril F80 would be very cool despite the fact regular 3 series are painted that color.

BTW are u selling the Estoril 46 then?

Bear in mind that's MSRP-if you use the $1500 in holiday credit and finance through them. As well as CCA credit, you'll be at $2500 under MSRP without negotiating.

I still don't know if people are able to get $500 over invoice on M3s yet...

What kind of suspension is the Nardo F80 that was posted by @MDork sitting on?

Most expensive place to buy a car in the world is probably Singapore, M5 there starts at $370,000 USD.

Though it makes sense since Singapore is basically just a city so it's natural that the government want to control the amount of cars by making it costly to own one.

I'm a DCT owner and love them but they both have a place in the enthusiast world. For starters, it is not only about going to the track and which is fastest. Many like the interaction between man and machine and shifting your own gears does return a more involved experience, one can even say more rewarding.

Yes, you are correct, the DCT is faster and some say the same about AWD. With AWD, we'd finally be able to get a 600hp M3....I don't want an AWD M3 just because it's "faster"....look at the holy trinity...918, P1 and Laferrari. So far the rear wheel drive P1 has been the fastest performer, of course we're splitting hairs and I'll never own any nor push any vehicle at those paces. But the results in this next generation vehicle with hybrid powertrains still demonstrated that no matter how trick an AWD system, a RWD car can still perform equally(on a dry track of course, the only track I'd take my car to).

If I want to go on date with my weekend car in NYC traffic, sure give me a DCT.
But if I'm going on a fun weekend drive out to the Florida coast, I would love to have a manual. Options are great and we at least should always have that option with enthusiast performance vehicles. I hate that Audi doesn't bring their super wagons to North America, why....because some idiot said no..... I'd buy an RS6 in heartbeat, but nope, I have no choice, no option....the enthusiast looses.
Thank you doctor, however I think that is an excessively high dose of narcan, 200 to 400 mcg would do the trick and no paddles please, my heart is beating. Back to reality.

I have a manual car, heel & toe, match revs whatever, I can drive, do a hill climb etc... Its fun to shift gears, but believe me, I'd rather focus on the 33 turns ahead of me near the villages of Solden.

Further aside saw Bond girl and Mr. Hinx last year when they were filming in Austria. He is absolutely HUGE and she is hotter in person.

and a further aside. My die hard friend w a GTR w some alpha moogen HKS, spoon stage or something. Drove slightly tuned M4. His reply - car is fast and more refined than GTR and DCT gear box is flawless.

Everyone has their preference.

Ohhhh wait narcan wearing off... pin points back..

Haha, cool post. We run 1-2mgs sivp 5min....but a shot of 200mcg rivp would fly. No question for me though, I'm with you, I love my DCT, but the manual has a place in our world too.

Wow! The F80 can pull off flat colors very well! Not a lot of cars have aggressive lines enough to do that and need the help of metallic paint to enhance the lines. But not the F80!
