Mineral Grey ///M4 ZCP with MPE

Hey everyone, just want to make a quick post on my new M4 that I finally took delivery on Monday morning 4/25. This is my first M and I can't say enough good things about it. I don't have a lot of behind the wheel time with the base M4, as I only drove it for about 15-20 minutes during a few test drives.

Im 28 and have been dreaming of owning a M for about 11-12 years now. I wanted the E46 M3 and was completely in love with its looks. My love for BMW came when my brother n law and sister bought and owned a E60 M5, and Alpina B7.

In January 2012 I almost purchased the E92 M3, and had to do the adult thing and buy a house, so I purchased my first home in 2013 at 25. Last year in March I purchased my first BMW, a 2015 335i with MPPK and MPE. Prior to that I had a '13 FR-S. Now that I have been established for a few years, I've been patiently waiting the comp pack M4 and I'm happy that I waited.

Just a quick summary of the car's ride now that I have 147 miles on the odometer, the suspension is amazing. It's nice and feels refined to the 335. In comfort it's not harsh on the bumps as many have suspected since it rides on 20" wheels. I also drove the car in sport+ and I didn't think that was rough at all, and don't understand why so many people think its too rough and only for the track. Maybe I'm use to my Rubicon and Tundra being much harsh in normal driving conditions. But the suspension is nice and comfortable. The seats are very nice, as well as very supportive in my opinion. I really appreciate the side bolsters and the support around the shoulders.

Like I said I don't have much experience behind the wheel of the base M4 and just wanted to share my opinion with everyone. I know what uncomfortable feels like, and I know many of you would appreciate the new seats. Well I'll try and get some more video clips up soon. Most likely this weekend. Thanks everyone and just want to thank everyone on the forum for their knowledge and the useful information. And lastly, Im happy that I had the MPE installed asap. I got a lot of thumbs up yesterday driving through Irvine. Sorry for the pic and video quality, they were from my iPhone 6s.Name: IMG_0568.JPG

wow. If I trade my '15 BSM it will be for ZCP MG on SO interior like yours.

I don't think I could justify the $5K extra for the MPE for a little deeper sound and loudness.

Looks hot though.

Incredible sound. I love the subtle contrast between the MG and carbon. Congratulations on finally taking delivery.

Glad you got engaged before delivery, so you'd have a willing assistant to video. Haha.

Thanks for posting the cold start as well.

Congrats! I was looking forward to seeing this thread since the day you told me you had ordered ZCP + MPE in one of my threads. After watching that video of an M4 ZCP with MPE that you shared, I ordered my SO M4 ZCP with MPE as well. Hopefully, it will be here sometime in June. Please keep posting more videos, I really like how it sounds.

Congrats!

Question: so if this car has the exhaust burbles with the MPE equipped, does this mean that the new competition package burbles are added through a change software alone (similar to how the other tuners are able to code burbles now)? If instead the burbles came from the competition exhaust alone (and not through software), than wouldn't OP adding MPE make the car loose the burble feature because the ZCP system was replaced?

I guess what I am trying to say is that I didn't think the ZCP cars would keep the burble tune if they didn't have the stock ZCP exhaust.

I hope I am making sense!

thanks guys,

I will this weekend and hopefully they'll be good to everyone's liking. Well get some in cabin footage as well as exterior footage. I'm glad you ordered yours wil MPE. I know to some it's not worth it but the attitude of hearing it and people looking at my car was priceless. I got a thumbs up from a merc AMG GT driver. That made my day

I believe most have confirmed its probably software is what they re-programmed. The burble is still present with MPE just amplified more. Not so much in efficient mode but in sport+ it's loud.

That sounds glorious!!! Do you have a valve controller too? Interested to know what it sounds like with valves kept open. Do you get any drone when cruising?
