Seatbelt assist arm on F82 M4?
Hi, I am just wondering if the M4 coupe has the automatic seatblet arm like the one on E92 M3? Haven't had a chance to see the car in person yet, did anyone notice that before? thanks!

The UK pre-production car that I got to see had a blanking panel where it would usually be on a lesser 4 series - I assume the production cars will be the same due to weight saving/compatibility with the wider M seats.

I believe this is true. My understanding is that while the F32 4 Series does have the seatbelt assistant just like the E92 3 Series and M3 did, the F82 eliminates this due to the unique M4 seats not integrating well with the system.
This is one feature that I suspect most people will appreciate being removed. |

I did not see them in the show cars. Good riddance and weight reduction IMO .

I liked those cupholders! Minimilist and not in your face when youre not using them. I hat rigid built in cup holders. They even had a perfect mini cutout for redbull!

Why no seatbelt extender arm for the M4?
I searched and didn't come up with an answer. Finally got to test drive an M4 yesterday. Great car! Can't wait til the fall when I get mine. I noticed there isn't a seat belt arm extender on it as there is on the 4 series? Anyone know why not?

I'm happy the M4 doesn't come with the seatbelt assist, it worked like half the time in my previous E92 335is. What I do miss is the thigh extenders I didn't realize how useful they were till I went on a 10 hour long drive in the M4. They really did make a difference in the fatigue your legs and lower back felt afterwards in my opinion.

Wow, thread from the dead or what? Dormant for 1.5 years and then Bam!
Saves weight - useless anyway. There's the answer.

I believe prevailing logic is that incompatibility with the M seats was the cause while slight weight reduction was a happy side effect. Now, I suppose you could argue that the primary reason for the M seat was to shed pounds, and thus once again boil the whole thing down to weight reduction, sure.
