I am in Kansas City but willing to travel to find the best deal. But if MSRP is the best price I can expect, is there any reason I should not just buy it from my local BMW dealer?

Only those who are BMW dealers or who have a good relationship with dealer to be offered chance to spec as you like and buy were able to order from available dealer launch cars. I was offered to buy my dealers first car with a early March build date and likely arrival by end of April. Would have been great and certainly among first to get one but holding firm to my dream of doing ED for first time with this car.

I put down $1000 at my BMW dealer in Doylestown PA. I went to Princeton BMW this weekend to look at a 4 series to check out the interior, and the dealer said there was no list at this dealership and anyone who put money down was crazy. "There are no production numbers set, the production lines do not contain M4s through July 2014". I guess they will put M4s into the already existing production line after the official release and launch. So many of us are "in line" at the dealer, so I am assuming we are in line for their initial dealer allocations. But it is so confusing how certain dealers have set up a list for preorders and others push you away. He told me to come back in July 2014 at Princeton.

Just got on there list no deposit.. If u want one in Texas he told me at msrp and I'm 9th on f80 list.. Not sure if allocation will be separate for f80 or f82. We will see.. Call Chris Reilly if you want one in Texas.. Good guy to work with..let him know Dan sent you...

Plan is to wait and order the car x over ED invoice as I have done so many times.

Paying MSRP for a early production car makes no sense to me...... Lesson learned from M5 M6 release as well......
