Again, GOLFFRR speaks with the voice of reason. If your dealer is promising you much more than your place in line, estimated date and locking in your specs, then I would run away.

Here is my experience with launch cars in the past, example being 2008 M3.
1. Will it get driven? Yes definitely, and not using proper "M car break-in protocol". 2. Who will drive it? In this order: a) The tech who does PDI and every tech who notices him doing it. b) Client advisors/sales managers, especially the ones who are on these forums so they can be first to say they drove it. c) some previous VIP customers that the sales managers know can afford to buy a new one for over MSRP in the next two months. 3. How many miles will it have? Anywhere between 150 and 600 miles 4. Will they give a discount? Only if it is an unusual color, but most likely they'll get MSRP. Most of the M3/4 launch cars are white or black so you'll definitely see it for MSRP. 5. Why do you need to be the first person with the car? Probably because the rest of your life is so lame that you have to be the first person at your local cars and coffee for people to envy. |
