BMW M4 vs Hyundai Genesis

Play Devil's advocate for a moment. Because while I don't believe this story - I want to feel 100% positive that this scenario did not happen as told. At first, I just brushed it off (a month or so ago):

Who cares? Let them fantasize about beating an M4. On paper, the M4 should destroy the Genesis. Maybe the M4 driver wasn't racing, maybe he decided to slow down after he reached the speed limit... Anything could've happened.

that's what they typically run, my uncles got a 2014 R spec and it does have good tq and gets up to speed nicely, but it will not hang with an F8X

Sorry, I've driven that Sedan myself and if it were as fast as an F8X in any shape or form there would be more people flocking to it based upon price alone. The car is a hog and runs mid 13's MAYBE and doesn't pull very hard on the freeway either.

You have to realize there are a lot of people out there that assume their purchase of a car is second to none, meaning they are morons. Look at how that guy described his race on the freeway. Sounded condescending and that the car was gasping for air and equated it to a UPS truck ? I mean let's get real that car even with light mods would not hang with an F8X in any way shape or form. Just one of those people that when you hear them talk you roll your eyes.

It'd be no different than if someone in here did a write up on how they trashed a new Z06 on the freeway and it wasn't even close and the Z06 should remove it's badges and be ashamed.

Maybe he took on an M Sport 428i? Or the M4 owner just didn't give two shits because, lets be honest, we're not looking to race Hyundai's. If an RS5 pulls up and wants to have fun, sure... but a Hyundai is just another car to me...

Pure fantasy. I had a Genesis sedan 5.0 jump to try to beat me to a merge point from a light. It caught me by surprise because I didn't think he was going to. My car was completely stock at the time, including tires. Despite him having a jump, I punched it in first and pulled past him easily into second and then accidentally shifted early to 3rd but still kept pulling ahead. Not close at all. He was quite peeved afterwards and was riding my tail and swerving back and forth, but it was a one lane road and I came up on traffic, so there was nowhere to go before he pulled off.

Agreed, someone should ask him how his Genesis would fair against a GT-R. I'd love to hear the short story on that one as well.

Just read the ol 5.0 Genesis times and it would have a hard time with a 335/435, especially if they had MPPK equipped. Much less a true M anything.

Oh well, let people have their fantasies. That's what I seriously like about this board. We do have our fanboi's, but there enough level headed people here to keep things in perspective and don't get out of hand like that thread has.

Well the general intelligence level in this forum is high. You'd assume to be able to afford a 70k+ car, you need to have your head on straight... Most of us have really good careers (note: i didnt say jobs), and are actual professionals....

You do realize many of them dont even call their car "hyundai genesis".. They call "genesis coupe".. Ashamed of their own brand name, engine bought from mitsubishi.. Chassis that doesnt know what to do.. Its 25k hyundai.. Let em be..
Even a 92 civic hatch CAN be made quicker then m4 if u put built k20 w turbo.. How gives a f..

I actually own both: F80 M3 and my wife's Genesis 5.0. In no cicumstance does Genesis feel or is faster. I must say that I like the Genesis a lot but speed wise it's not even close. You are looking at 3500+ lbs car with 425HP vs 4100+ lbs car with 439HP.

I would take Genesis over 5-series when you consider dollar to car ratio. I was pretty shocked that Huyndai makes V-8 cars to begin with, once I drove it I was sold.
