It does say the power increase includes a modified bedplate, whatever the hell that is.

I don't see where it states any new suspension components (dampers, sways etc.), just settings and software. Ok, I see it, new software for dampers and new stabilizer.

The bedplate is the bottom half of the crank case that holds the bottom half of the main crankshaft bearings. Item 6 on chart below:

It is more clearly mentioned in the Canadian product info:

If the HP/TQ chart is accurate, the gains in output are only in the upper-RPM range, from 5500 to redline right where the car needs it. It's safe to assume it's hardware related and not just a software tweak.

Thanks for posting...based on the description, it appears that the dampers are unchanged and only get a software update.

Edit: the Canadian description posted above seems to indicate new dampers.

What makes you think that ?

Further, I just don't see how a modified bedplate would give the engine more power. I could understand that a modified bedplate could be needed to deal with more power, but it would not make more power by itself. Further, with the quantity of cars out there making big power on the base bedplate withou issues, I wonder if this was really warranted. No mention of this bedplate modification on the GTS either...

Thanks for confirming. Can't get better confirmation than from ETK.

I never said you were. There was simply conflicting info being distributed. Further, two articles reported a modified crankcase cover, which is technically different than a bedplate .

Yeah my point the whole time was where there is smoke there is usually fire. I had heard about a modified engine component from my SA who never Bs me and two magazines even tho they were conflicting.

Unfortunately I dont think this helps the one issue most of us worry about. The crank hub. I dont know enough to really comment on this though.

It would seem to make sense for them to use this new bedplate on all S55 engines. I wonder if that will happen.

If this is true, then that would definitely make the most sense. Has the part number changed in ETK?

Just one more thing to make 2015 / early 2016s even more obsolete

Nonsense, I've already upgraded my bedplate to an aftermarket CFRP piece with OLED accents. It voided my warranty, but I know it is worth it every time I climb underneath the car, remove the underbody shielding, and can almost see it. I can also feel the slightly lighter front end every time I take a corner at 160mph.

It holds the crankshaft in place. See Post #4.

I still don't understand this sports exhaust from the ZCP? Is it just a sound differential from the regular stock? Because it's not even as close as good as MPE I heard, sooo I don't understand what ZCP exhaust does.
