Thanks bro. I can’t wait to see the actual finished product.
So, here's a thought. Is the finished product going to be all brushed/finished metal or the matte black? What about having the raised letters match the wheel color? Think it would work either way, but would really pop off the black.

It’ll be PVD/powder coated aluminum with the script polished or brushed. The machine shop doesn’t have paint capabilities, so polished or brushed are my only options unfortunately.

Apparently the adhesive and the molding material cause a chemical reaction, so Porsche changed the adhesive.
Ugh, sucks to hear. Had it on my CPO 911. I gave my SA the Rennlist thread about it and got it warrantied no problem.

Blows my mind Porsche has these silly types of issues.

PVD/coat the whole thing in satin/matte to match the rims?

Cannot believe that. The a-pillar trim constantly coming loose on my Land Rover before flying completely off on the way to Mammoth yesterday, yes. The adhesive/sealant on a 911, no.

Oh, I read that post too, creepy.

I have had little things happen to most of my Porsches as well and generally are fixed via warranty too. I'm waiting on something now in fact. Although I caught it late so I haven't heard anything back, which worries me I may have to push it harder.

Also, sorry about the cop buddy. I'm a bit curious on how that happened. Considering my general consensus is that, holstered firearms have their safety on right? Unless the person in question knew how to handle one.

It’ll be coated to match the black satin finish of the deck lid with polished/machined script like the OEM piece.

Cops don’t generally carry guns equipped with a safety, at least not any that I know of. Our duty guns are prohibited from having safeties; all of my off-duty guns do not have safeties either. The female in question grabbed the gun, pointed in the direction of her head and shot herself. She could’ve easily shot either of my partners on scene.

It’s a ‘21 and only had 3k miles on it. I actually noticed it when I took delivery but thought it was from sitting out in the 100 degree July Utah sun.

But after sitting in the my garage for a day it was apparent it was something else so I did some digging on Rennlist to find it was a common issue.

While I no problem getting it warrantied, it was obvious the dealer also saw the degradation and tried to clean it up before delivery.

I remember those threads to, sorry your was affected. Hopefully it is a quick turnaround and they give something somewhat fun to beat on for a loaner!

I wonder why the new SavageGeese video on the 5'er didn't make it on the front page. The other release they made on it was front page.
Ah... because both were honest, and that's not allowed.

I did end up buying a new car with 800+ horsepower, but not the one I expected.

Seeing all these threads on people modifying their 911s is starting to make me want to fix all the things on my own car that I don't quite like. In particular, I've never been a huge fan of the black wheels on my car, and I think the red calipers don't go particularly well with the Aventurine Green.

While messing around on the Macan configurator I saw they now offered Satin Neodyme wheels (same color you get on the 911 GT3), and they seem to work quite well with aventurine and the red brakes.

Is it insane to try and get my GTS wheels repainted this color? (And does anybody know a good place in the SF area that could do this?)

On the same note, we could be surprised that their video on the LCI X5 didn't make it on the front page. They were really honest about how much of a great car it was.

How do you like it? Does it handle well for all its mass. Why that vs x5m?
