Removing instrument cluster for dial replacements

I’ve read various threads on the forum and they all mention battery disconnect.
Can this be done without disconnecting the battery due to torrential rain I don’t want to leave my boot open until the jobs done.

Hi Dappa, I've removed my cluster for the same reason and didn't disconnect the battery at all.

Be sure to take a photo of where each needle sits at resting position on the old dials before removing them as this will help a lot.
