12v power for illuminated door sills on F80/F82?

Looking to get some custom-built illuminated door sills.
I was told these sills will need a 12v power source.

I have tried to search online but not sure if:
1/ there exist a 12v power source on F80/82 that can be drawn on to power the sills without any exposed wirings?
2/ ...and that it will only power on when the door(s) is/are open?

If you want to do it 100% the right way, look at NewTis, identify which 12v switched fuses are unused in your configuration and actually run designated power and ground lines from the back of your car, in a "y shape" to each door sill and bob's your uncle.

NewTIS is gone... BMW had them shut it down.
