If you read my original comment carefully you’ll see that I said 35k off MSRP with miles on them aka used units. I never claimed 35k off MSRP new.

God is in the details!

Also, BMW messed up - MSRP is too high on these and no manual option on these which is a deal breaker for all purists and true enthusiasts like myself.

That's not what he's saying. He said it twice now and you are still lost.

"Used units with miles on them"

Come on man.

My sales guy just sent me an email and let me know that BMW has added support onto the 2020 M4 CS's. Not sure how much, but they quoted an $18K discount on a $107K MSRP car. Not as good as the discounts on the '19's but looks like they're starting to try and move them

Hah my bad, I thought you were saying any dealer is "still" stuck with "new" one, didn't know how my brain functioned then.

I did see it but just could not understand how it was determined an used M4 CS would be 35k off. What if that one already has 20k or 30k miles on?

Any percentage off MSRP without saying mileage should be only applicable to new cars.

But I didn't connect the former and latter sentences together. That was my bad anyway.

Did 18k discount include BMW rebate?

I got mine with 22% off pre-rebate. So I know 2020 still is not there yet but was surprised to see some dealer already willing to take 18k off for 107k MSRP.

Discount included rebates. That was without any negotiation as well. My sales guy just randomly sent out the offer to me. Sounds like the deals are not too far away from happening

BMW M4 CS 2019 Deal Help

Hey Guys, what do you think of the quote I received for this Bmw M4 CS 2019 Frozen Blue.

This car has been on their lot for 4 months and still has not sold. (rounding my numbers below to keep it simple)

MSRP - $119,000
Discount - $5000
Rebates- $6000

My Rebuilt BMW M4 2015, they appraised for 20k ( I still owe 11k) SO
Trade in - $9000

Final Price - $99000

Lease Payment w/ 0 Down - $1125/Month 36 months 10kmiles

What do you guys think? I think I can definitely press for a deal to get my monthly payments down to the 900s. It's a 2019 car and has not sold for 4 months now.

He says he has no more room in the deal and this is the best he can do when I asked him to appraise my car for 25k instead so the 5k would reduce my monthly payments down to $970/month.

How should I negotiate this?

Any help would be appreciated.

You're 15k short of a good discount. Do not take that deal. Check the forum and swaplease for reference. For example my M3CS MSRP was 115k, came with the Mperformance exhaust and carbon fiber mirrors. My month payment with taxes included is $1k and I didn't put any money down. 1k is still a high payment but I knew I would need a exhaust eventually because the stock CS exhaust leaves a little bit to be had. So I factored that $5700 exhaust in the payment and realized it's actually a great deal. Difference is that you have a trade in but that discount of 5k is terrible.

Hey thanks a lot for your insight. I was thinking the same, that somewhere something is off.
We're going in this Saturday to finalize the deal. Should I just go in and ask them 15k more of a discount or I am not doing it?

Please let me know how I should go about negotiating this one. This car has been on their lot since July.

No problem. Yes, just walk in and demand that 15k off or else you will walk. Simply state that these cars are not moving and that you know people are getting crazy deals on these cars. They know what's up with these cars so don't let the get you bro.

I would not even walk in. Tell them you aren't even showing up unless you get a bigger discount. Call
ALL the dealers in your area and tell them you are shopping for dealers with the biggest % discount on the M4 CS at buy rate MF. Take note of the biggest % off and now you have ammo on whatever optioned M4 CS you want. Call back all the the dealers they have to meet or exceed that %. Now you know you have the best deal in town.

don't even go there
I have not followed the market on these recently but few months ago there was 9k of trunk money directly to dealer
I am almost positive that this should be still there may be better
so the discount you should get is the following :
truck money say 9 k
13-15 % off from dealer which should be around 20-25 k
lease rebates from BMWFS which is according to you is 6 k
base MF
then you can walk in

Guys wow thanks so much. Didn't even realize how much of a bad deal that was. I literally just called a bunch of dealers today and specifically one 2 hours away. They have a 2019 M4 CS San Marino, a better optioned car then the one I was looking at and told them that I need 20% off MSRP before incentives and rebates. This is the lease offer they gave me and this is before my appraisal.

MSRP - $128,125
Total Savings & Rebate - $28,750
Before taxes - $99,375

Gov't Fee - $431.50
Proc/Doc fee - $699.50

Accessories - 0
Gross Cap Cost - $107,050
Trade allowance - 0
Trade payoff - 0

Adjusted Cap Cost - $102,984.94
Paidby customer- 0

Residual - $73,031.00

36 months 10k miles

0 down - 1207-1217/month
7.5k down - $977-987/month
10k down - 901-911/month

This is before my car appraisal so I would still subtract like 8-10k of the final price of 99k to bring it to around 88-90k.

I am going to use this as a negotiating tool with these guys and ask for a 20% discount off msrp from the 119k before my appraisal

Ideally this is what I am looking at for my current deal
20% off MSRP before incentives and rebate - 99k
After rebates - 94k
After adding my trade in - 85k

I am going to aim for that magic number of 85k or I am going to tell them that I am going for the other deal.

What do you guys think?

That's a great plan. You have the tools now, use them wisely. $128k is just ridiculous for a M4CS. Use that 20% as your leverage and you should be able to get a great deal. Mind linking the car you're trying to purchase?

Yeah absolutely, that's the plan this saturday. I need that final price of 85k. 15k more off or I am not taking it. They haven't sold this car for 4 months now.

I even got a much better deal with another dealer 2 hours away as I mentioned above, so I am gonna use that as a negotiating tool.

I should be able to get to the 800s for monthly payments

Yes, you are on the right path! The only thing I would do differently is instead of using your old car as a down payment, use it as an MSD. That way you can lower your money factor AND get that money back at the end of the lease. Your payment will be higher, but in the long run you will be saving money on interest. Remember: a down payment is merely pre-paying your monthly lease in advance. You aren't saving that much at all and you could essentially lose that down if the car is totaled or stolen. How? If the car is a total loss, your insurance and GAP will pay off the balance of the lease and the value of the car. Since you partially pre-paid with a down payment, it will not be reimbursed since they will only pay off what you owe, not what you already paid. With an MSD, you get that back at the end of the lease. Totaled cars are considered "paid off" by insurance, so BMWNA will return your MSD in that case as well.

MSDs are the way to go.

Oh wow, I didn't even know you can do that. So basically if the trade in is at 8k . I'll get that 8k back at the end of the three year lease? Is that guaranteed?

Remember: a down payment is merely pre-paying your monthly lease. You aren't saving that much at all and you could essentially lose that down if the car is totaled or stolen. MSDs are the way to go.
Oh wow, I didn't even know you can do that. So basically if the trade in is at 8k . I'll get that 8k back at the end of the three year lease? Is that guaranteed?
Yes it's guaranteed. It's a security deposit. You only lose it if you neglect to pay your lease. I've edited my original post to include more info.

I got it. Wow, didn't even know that lol. Thank you so much. Here is what I am thinking as a final gameplan for this Saturday

Gameplan for M4 Cs:
• Need 22% off MSRP including rebates and discount
• MSRP - $119095 (22% off)
• MSRP before appraisal - $92,895

Appraise car at 20k and we use the value we get there as MSDs.

**Final price - $92,895 - with MSDS of $9000**<-- I am not doing the deal otherwise.

OR use 9k as down and get to the final price of $83,835

Is the above fair to ask them? or am I asking too much? Or do I have room to squeeze more?

You have some very knowledgeable people on this forum. Before you sign anything Saturday, just post your deal on here first so we can give you some advice. I'm at work and can't get into a lot details right now. I'll check back later.
