2018 M3 --> 2020 M4 Competition

Just picked up my 2020 M4 ZCP today. Absolutely love the color combo. I think the competition packaged completely changes the car. Coming from a 2018 M3 which some of you might know from here https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1468685

Long story short, I listed my M3 for lease transfer as a feeler. Within six hours I had almost ten people wanting to take it. BMWFS was so quick that the transfer was completed before I had a chance to back out. With the M3 gone, there was a void in my life. I had the M3 for 2 years & 5 months. I put 30,000 miles on the car, I drove it pretty much everyday, in the snow etc. I think the F8x platform is perfect. Which meant the M4 was the best replacement. It has all of the elements that I love about this platform, while feeling like a new car. Unlike my M3, this M4 is pretty much loaded.

Big thanks to Dan from Next Level Auto Brokers for getting me a killer deal. Given the fact that M3/M4 production has halted, we had to stick to what's out there. I kid you not, I messaged Dan pretty much a breakdown of the exact build I wanted. He managed to locate & swap one in. Super smooth process. Overall Dan knows a metric ton about BMW leases/deals. I strongly suggest that you guys reach out to him when you're buying a new BMW; as I surely will when I'm done with this one.

AW was never in the running. I had an F10 that color, it's nice but I prefer BSM or MG. Since my F80 was BSM, the hands down choice for me was MG. Tbh M3/M4s pretty much look good in any color. That being said, MG looks amazing on this car. I'd rank it higher than AW for sure. You can't go wrong either way.

Coming from an F80, I agree the F80 has a perfect rear.

Talk about a similar story lol. I had a 2018 M3, after a year with the car, I had to part ways. My wife and I got the news we were having twins. I knew that I would not be driving the car that much. Swapaleased the m3 , gone in 4 weeks . I had to fill the void and ended up getting a killer deal on swapalease, 2019 m4 cp, after waiting on temp plates, today was the first day I drove it. I have to say, what a huge difference between the m3 non Cp and m4 cP. Tenzanite blue with silver interior, every option checked off, including the M performance aero kit.

Don't get me wrong, I love 6MT. However the DCT pairs extremely well with this engine. The car is absolutely ballistic with the DCT. Also I love the the kickback every time the DCT upshifts. It's fun going to through all the gears in the 6MT, but no joke the car feels much faster with the DCT for some reason. The power delivery is nuts.

Not sure yet, kind of went crazy with the options on this one haha. I do find myself on RW Carbon's website every other hour though.....

On a sidenote, they collect a lot dirt. Literally just stepped in the car once and you can see the mark on the mat. I might actually swap the standard anthracite mats back in

We like them both around here. Fortunate to have an F80 before this. In an ideal world, I'd own both of them at the same time. Totally worth it.

I honestly think that full leather should be standard on a car of this tier. My F80 did not have full leather, and this F82 feels like a completely different car on the inside. Not sure why BMW didn't make full leather standard. At the bare minimum the dash should be merino leather standard. They should've just raised the MSRP a bit to do that, no one would've cared.

Funny I have a 6MT and when I drove my friends M3 with DCT it felt faster. Because of that alone I've been debating whether to get the G80 in auto or 6MT...especially if they only offer auto on the comp.

I have almost the same build. The only difference is I don't have full leather.

This is my 2nd F82. The 1st one didn't have ZCP and this one does. I don't think it makes a big difference except for the burbles to be honest. Not sure it's worth the extra money but I went for it anyway.

Excellent choice in colors. Congrats. I have the same combo- non full leather.
I've never driven the older models, but the 2019 ZCP I have drives fantastic.
For the floor mats, you should get these.
They are super thick and do not budge or move 1 mm, the Pyle is very thick, the backing is waterproof, and they go great with SO.
