It's a 12 - 15 minute process to Read the stock software...

And an 8 - 10 minute process to program your Stock or Tuned Files...
(we always try to turn around files with 24 hours, and can provide remote support if/when necessary)

For the first step, what if you don't have a battery charger? Is it required?

It’s a “best practice” to always use a battery charger when doing
any type of diagnostics/flashing procedure.

It’s less critical when “Reading” as you’re not changing any data or
programming, but as stated in the “Installation Process” (page 2),
it is “Highly Recommended” when actually flashing as that’s when
you’re actually programming/writing to the data area.

X2 what is a good charger you recommend that is affordable? I have never used one or had one in my life so just want to make sure I get something you recommend VF. Nothing too crazy with a learning curve.

Intro pricing has come and gone, but we have had a recent

HEX Flash Cables are in stock and ship the same day.
Software requests now happen through the link on the
web-page, and are fulfilled within 24 hours.
(and typically much sooner than that!)

It's a small detail, but we just got a full assortment of stickers
back in stock and updated a field during check out where you
can specify sticker color!

Bushed Aluminum - White - HEX Tuning Green

(the green matches the color of the HEX Flash Cable pretty well)

(Today's orders being serialized and ready to ship!)

I'd like to chime in and offer my 2 cents. I have the VF Engineering Stage 2 Tune and my first time at the track (with the VF tune) turned a 1:50.6 at Autoclub (on 91 octane) and that was 2.4 seconds faster than the JB4 tune I had (on E80 mix fuel).
People can talk about "dyno pulls" "seat of your pants" but I have the actual lap times to show how much more power their tune makes. I drove the same lines, hit the same brake marks and apexed the same corners.
Here's the video:

Great work!

That's a VERY respectable time for the 'Roval'.

Lots of Porsche GT3 guys struggle to go sub 1:50.xx, and I've
only seen/heard of two other customer cars who run anything
that starts with a 1:4X.xx

Next time you head out, give us a ring and we'll meet you at
the track to do some data-logging and see if we can dial it in
a bit more for you!
(we test at AutoClub and Willow a few times a year.)

Yes, we can flash the BMW 320i, but have not yet completed
validation as the demand has not been very strong.

If you're local to Southern California, feel free to drop us a PM
or an e-mail if you can make your car available for a few days.

Validation customers receive a generous discount, along with
free before & after dyno results and data log review.

Sorry, I just saw this. I am in the DMV area. However, please if you start selling a tune for the 320i let me know. I will be the first customer.

Ok, so I wanted to give my 2 cents and a review of the Hex Flash tune and my experience with VF. I was switching to the Hex Flash from an Active8 piggy back.

Customer service:
- I got my cable and didn't realize that it normally took 24 hours once you send your file to VFE and then they send you back the tuned file. I emailed VFE asking if there was anyway to get it back sooner as I already had an apt on my indy the next morning to remove the piggy back and borrow their battery charger. Totally not a VF issue, my issue. They were AWESOME!!!! They responded to me in 15 minutes and I got the file back 24 minutes later, not hours, minutes. Totally helped me out and was really appreciated.

Tune:
- So I drove my car to the shop with the Active8 on. Removed it, tuned the car and then drove it again, so very good comparison. BTW - I was SUPER NERVOUS to install this tune, hadn't done it before. It was incredibly easy and the directions were spot on. For anyone nervous to do this, don't be, it is so easy. The only thing I will mention that I didn't know is that as the tune erases and rewrites every single sensor and warning on your car goes off. It freaked me out at first but then I realized it was just the coding, but good to know ahead of time. Ok, the tune. I can definitely say this thing is FUCKING BONKERS!!! Amazing. IMO, this tune has significantly more power and torque than the Active8 and the delivery of the power is amazingly smooth. I really liked the Active8, but, I didn't think the delivery of power was really smooth and I did get misfires at higher rpms. Misfires are gone with the Hex Stage 1, delivery is smoother and holy crap is this thing fast. Wow, I am so impressed. 2nd gear and then pulling through 3rd makes everyone laugh that it is your car, there is no way you don't smile and giggle, its just insane.

Sound:
So I have a stock exhaust, with a valve controller (always open) and the AA Midpipe (which is awesome BTW). My car is pretty loud and I think sounds actually really good. First thing I noticed, besides the burbles (get to those) was a much more distinctive pop when shifting between gears. Way nicer, previously I had several shifts that the sounds was very fart cansih, gone now, nice quick pop when shifting especially under load. The burbles...... OMG the BURBLES. I was laughing the entire ride home. They are awesome and the volume level of the burbles in Sport Plus is borderline obnoxious in my car, but in such a good way. Every lift of the throttle I just started laughing. I have a convertible so with the top down it is really loud, but again, in a good way. Top up, pretty normal.

So, super impressed all around. Service was great, install was super easy and the result of the tune is just plain awesome. This thing is SO FAST now its crazy and all the sounds I wanted are there. I sat and waited to get this tune for a while, wish I had done it sooner!!!

Thanks. Didn't realize it erases all of your coding.

So to be clear, I don't think it erases on custom coding, it was saying that on the screen as it loaded "erasing ..... " something, I didn't see the word. I don't think it will erase coding, just wanted people to know to be aware that the process will set off and cycle through all of the warnings on the car, don't be alarmed.

The tune does not affect custom coding options in any way.

The only thing to be away about is that you will have to
re-setup your ///M Mode buttons on the steering wheel
as those default to stock settings.

***Update*** I run a VF Engineering Stage 2 Tune and on Sat the 26th during Beemerfest I turned a 1:47.1 (on track supplied transponder) or 1:47.4 on my GPS camera. I'm turning those times on 91 octane pump gas...just about everyone else in those times are on race fuel.

Here's the video (BTW, enjoy the E46 that was in front of me driving on 2 wheels especially around the 7 min mark):
