M4 performance spoiler

I picked up a spoiler from a dealership near by, when I opened it seemed like the 3m tape could have been reapplied. Just want to make sure 1) it is OEM and 2) it is new and the 3m tape is the original (strength) it comes with and if it is strong enough to hold it down. Inside the spoiler it had a couple spots where it looked like 3m tape was applied and then taken off. Please see the attached pictures.

BMW will always recommend you use their betalink stuff, but I'm sure that is fine. That stuff is more resilient than it looks.

Is it just me or does this look previously used/ applied on from the marks on the inside?

The underside of my M Performance spoiler looked pretty banged up too, which led me to question about whether it was used. After seeing other members post pictures, theirs looked banged up too, so it's just the manufacturing process of the unfinished side that looks used. Everything else was perfect. Yours looks new, including the adhesive tape. Below is a link for the install from another member, and a very important step is to strap that spoiler down for 24 hours after you install it to help prevent any gaps.

Thanks for the info, can anyone chime in/advise whether this is an OEM and genuine not a fake/replica spoiler? The part number (PN: 51712350721) in the inside of the spoiler does not show up on getbmwparts or the internet. Is this legit?

Sine you are soooo paranoid about it, why not just simply return it to the dealership and get another one? I don't see what all the drama is about???

I ordered one recently from EBay. It is advertised as a PN: 51712350722 from a BMW dealership in Houston, but when the spoiler came is it was marked with that PN: 51712350721. I contacted them to make sure it is not a replica or aftermarket. They assured me it is not, they checked all their inventory and all have marked with the same part#. They took one of and verified its fitment from one their M4 in the showroom. Part came in properly box for shipping and symmetrical weaving. BTW, it only cost $399.

That is exactly the situation I am in. The box says the same number as yours and the inside says the same number as yours. I purchased mine from a California Dealership through ebay. So you think it is legit? Wondering if anyone else with a performance spoiler has the same numbers?

Did you ever figure it out? I see one one of those listed in the classified here for sale. For peace of mind I might just spend the extra to get one from a known source.

There seem to be the Euro and the US part numbers, but all of the ones sold with the Euro number around the internet are considerably cheaper by around $200-300. Any idea why?
