Front Lip Splitter carbon vs plastic??

I have a M4 on order looking to get front splitter and spoiler now

Question is it worth it to get a carbon front splitter? Will it last? If its just gonna get tore up is it not better to save the money and get plastic?

Before u say it depends how u drive I am just talking about normal speed bumps, low spots, driveways etc...

Also will be tracking the car a couple times per year.

Any advise is greatly appreciated. thanks

Recommend plastic. I did the Lightweight plastic front lip. About $500. Very durable. Even being very careful on speed bumps, driveways, etc., I still managed to scrape it in the first few days after install. And it was 1/3 $ of carbon fiber.

Plastic. You WILL scrape the lip no matter how careful you are. The plastic lip can take a beating while the CF will just crack if it's anything like the SG lips.

Plastic here also for a couple reasons...one, never had a lip on a car and figured i'd rather screw up a cheaper one and two, i actually like the little bit of contrast you get with the carbon splitters. Also if you go with the M Perf side blades they match the plastic lip so thats an extra bonus.

Plastic for sure. You'll wince every time you hit a bump or dip if you spend the money on a CF one. Just get plastic and enjoy it!

This is what happens when you are extremely careful but don't pay attention for a split second with a CF splitter. I'd stay with the plastic.

I had a very nice, complete carbon fiber lip on my previous M3.

Within a month there was a random truck tire belt that appeared in front of me on the freeway and I had no chance to swerve out of the way.

Lip goes bye bye and now I'm pissed cuz of the money I spent (not to mention the damage to the front).

The lightweight one is a good option. I think the 3d design one is also offered in plastic now too. I could be wrong though...

I did 7K kilometres with mine so far and it's perfectly fine (2 track days too). It is scratched at the bottom (speed bumps etc.) , but it won't hurt it since it's a high quality product.

My poly lip arrived today; I will unbox it and do a review this weekend. There is an initial thread with where I purchased the lip in this forum.

I would recommend the BMW poly lip. It fits perfect and isn't terribly expensive.

Yeah in LA all our curbs are super high. I want something nice, but not too nice.
