Quick props to F80Paul Custom BM3 Tune

Hey folks. We have a ton of great tuners and platforms for our cars. Just wanted to give a public shout out to Paul Johnson (F80Paul) and his Bootmod3 custom tuning. Paul has been amazing to work with. Always responds almost immediately (time difference), and has been immensely helpful with my tuning experience. I just added 100 percent methanol to my F82 and we have been working to dial in power, torque and traction. Great guy and very helpful. Best $500 I've spent so far on this mod "journey". Coming from extensive experience with the S62 platform (2003 supercharged M5), it's clear to me that Paul knows this S55 engine inside and out.

Getting ready to flash a custom E85 tune from F80Paul in a few days. Just waiting for my case of grape scented liquid power top end lube to arrive.

Paul has been awesome. Actually taught me how to download maps and offline flash. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Looking forward to dialing her in!

I am using approximately 2 ounces of liquid power top end lube per full tank of E85. This is recommended for anyone running an ethanol blend.

Recommended by my tuner for ethanol mixes.

Per the manufacturer:

Lubricates upper cylinders and the entire fuel system resulting in smoother, more consistent fuel delivery, reduced top end friction, increased ring seal and more power. Liquid Power Top Lube is extremely important in vehicles utilizing harsh alcohol fuels. While these fuels have many benefits and can produce extreme power gains, they lack lubricity. This lack of lubricity can cause scuffing, premature wear and even oxidation or corrosion over time. Liquid Power Top Lube addresses these issues and makes alcohol fuels more user friendly.

Haven't had a chance yet! Car got sideswiped in a parking lot about a month ago (hit and run) nad had it in shop. Paul and I wanted to wait until I got new wheels and tires before we did the final tweaks to boost (old PSS were spinning all over the place). About a week ago, I put on new Vorsteiner wheels and 295 4S rear/275 front.

Paul just finished adding more boost and refining torque curve now that hookup is good. Methanol is dialed in to start at 12 PSi progressive, and peak at 15PSI.
100 percent. This thing RIPS!!! And so smooth out of boost.


I have a shit ton going on (traveling, Mom has new onset dementia etc.)

Ill do my best to get on a dyno as soon as I can. Thanks for checking in

Waiting to line up Pure Turbos....which means DCT upgrade....and crank hub pinning. It never ends LOL

Sorry about the hit and run and glad thats sorted. Yup PSS big bowl of crap I took mine off within 2 weeks and went with 255/35-19 front 285/35-19 rear since im on KW HAS but no spacers and wanted to keep it a bit simple. Car hooks amazingly and Paul knows his S55 inside/out!

Good you're able to get Meth to fight IAT and octane limitation, are you going to add E85 too ?
Best power comes from both

I would LOVE to add an E85 map...Paul suggested that...especially to add to the meth. Problem is, the closest station to me is 50 miles away (Ventura). Just seems impractical.

My buddy goes through that, he drives down to station with RS7 full of empty jugs worth 60 gallons lol

Yep, mind you my buddy can't run Full E85 but he also has a bigger tank than us.
I am getting close to 300 miles per tank on my Paul tune with mixed driving in 70% (hwy) and 260-280 miles if I stay in sport+ more than 50% of my driving.

Fully Empty tank is about 15.3 gals as I tested twice letting car go down to "----"
