Except the regular 4 Series will have a Oil temp and the M2 none...
Interesting. We can all guess why BMW decided to omit the oil temp gauge from the M2. Makes no sense to me to omit oil temp from a car geared toward the enthusiast/track crowd.

We will see a US specific press release in mid to late spring re-summarizing the changes listed in the OP. We should also get US specific package and standard equipment changes at that time if there are any, and hopefully updated pricing as well. It's possible some of this will leak early, so stay tuned to Bimmerpost.com.

Is back up camera base yet? I didn't notice. Or is BMW going to milk 1 more year of exec pack.

It's not standard even on new 5 series so they are indeed going to milk it as lon as they can.

IIRC the CIC switch was done in 09, along with the E90 LCI. You're right about the CP though.

Quote "The optional Navigation system Professional for the new BMW 4 Series now features an interface with large tile-style control pads that is even easier to use. The control pads can be arranged as desired and display a constantly updated version of the linked menu content, making operation even more intuitive for users." End quote.

What the heck does that even mean? Are they referring to iDrive 5.0 or is this an update beyond that? I have 5.0 but I'm not sure what they are talking about in that second sentence.

Could anybody please please render the new headlights to a YMB F80 pic from bmw.com? (with 437 wheels would be very very nice)

As BMW seems to have chosen Tanzanite Blue as "LCI launch color", I think it's gonna take some time until we see a YMB LCI 2.0 F80

Not sure what you mean by this. But if you look at BMW history, many new engine introductions coincided with an LCI. When new platforms are introduced, the engine is often carried over from the previous platform and engines are then upgraded at LCI. Just look at the 3-series since the E36.

Note that even the E30 and E36 M3s got upgraded engines at their "LCI".

That being said, the 4-series already received its new engines when the 3-series got its LCI and new engines.

The tail lights are awesome and I'll look into a retrofit, the rest is meh.

I also think the gauges in all ///M models should be analog, we have the HUD if you want something digital. Piano black interior minus the carbon fiber doesn't look too bad either, with the right color combo it could be sweet.

couple of cans of plasti dip should be able to circumvent the need for black 666 wheels....

that or talk to a local powdercoater or wheel refinish company..

For about $150-175 per wheel I am sure a wheel repair shop can make then ANY color you want.. as well as take out any nicks and dings in your current wheels in the process.

You are wrong about E36 and somewhere correct about the E30

In the E30 case, it's hard to provide an NA-spec example since we got limited models. We can look at the ECE models though. First E30 facelift happened in 1985 and you are correct, that included an engine update from 2.3l to 2.5l. Then there was a major facelift in 1987 which did not include any engine improvements.

The NA-spec E36 example is completely wrong. E36 was introduced with an M50 engine, which was replaced by M50TU in 1993. There was a minor facelift in 1994. Then there was another engine upgrade in 1996, but facelift happened in 1997.

For the US E36 M3 it was
1. 1995 model intro with a 3.0l engine
2. 1996 engine upgrade to 3.2l
3. 1997 facelift

So in reality, nothing has changed.

If the production won't start till July for the LCI, why does BMW introduce it 6 months in advance. Or the July production only applies to NA cars and the production starts for EU cars immediately?

This. The US (maybe Canada?) has a productions stop, the rest of the world does not and will get this LCI right away.

If I powdercoat my wheels black (or trade them with another user) will BMW care at end of lease?

I assume yes lol
