Plug vs. Patching a Tire...
So I picked up a nail in my tire. Normally, I would patch the tire as patches seem to be better and safer than plugging. However, the last time I had a tire patched, my local tire shop scratched my rim and I also don't like how they half ass the removal and installation of wheel weights. It looks like they used a screwdriver to pry the old weights off gouging the rim and then slapped the new weights on all crooked.
So, for these reasons, I'm leaning towards plugging the tire to avoid all these issues w/ my local tire shop. Thoughts and feedback from people who've plugged their tires? I have one of these kits recommended by Tommy L Garage in his video: |

lol, yes, Tommy L Garage, the self proclaimed BMW expert. If you want a more permanent fix, use a combo plug/patch which must be applied from the inside. In order to not get rims scratched when mounting tires, go to any tire installer that is not using untrained local school children or their equivalents.

Find a tuner/performance shop that knows what they're doing. |
