Hello I have both 15 GTR and a 17 M3 zcp
GTR >>>>>>>>>> M3/4 (had a 4 series right before this too) Its to the point where I drive my new M3 anywhere I think I'll damage my car. Like to run errands at unknown areas, steep curbs, valet, etc. The only reason I would get the M3/4 over the GTR is if you are just planning on highway cruisin it all day long distance. In that case, Id get another car all together. I actually really like the M3, but the GTR, especially modded is such a beast. Power, handling, looks are all big and bold. But maybe thats not your style. |

I will say this one more time. GTR to M3/M4 = downgrade, no questions asked. GTR with mid pipe and tune is stupid ridiculous.

Both car is a beast if you mod it correctly. The M3 or M4 are both rear wheel drive and the GTR is AWD. One German and the other Japanese. Wish I can own both because I will NOT give up my M3 for it.

I wanted to revisit this with you guys. Had a really difficult time finding a good price on a clean Turbo S - Porsche values are just so bizarre, down and then way up. Wound up keeping the GT-R and getting an M3 with around 35k miles on it that'll be more or less a nicely modded daily driver.

The GTR is a heavy Pig of a car. It’s not pretty, the build quality sucks. Wow! So you can run fast quarter mile times. It was cool when it first hit in 09 but now not so much. Lastly, the sound it produces is probably one of the worst ones of any sports car made. Yes! The F80/82 does not have the best engine note but it’s a vast improvement over the GTR.

I love the looks of both and think they are fantastic cars. As far as the other idiotic comment made (looks and sound of GTR), looks are subjective. Soundwise - my GTR had an HKS midpipe and Legamax exhaust and it sounded 5 times better than my M4 AND any modified M4 I've ever heard. |

I still have both cars for now and for sure, anyone who thinks the GT-R is a 1/4 mile car is uninformed.
Also, while I do not think the GT-R is an amazing sounding car, there is zero question it sounds better than an S55 engine. I knew that way before going into this, the S55 is an ugly-sounding car compared some of BMW's classic engines (and other vehicles on the road. I did have an exhaust on the GT-R by AAM that made it sound a little too loud and boomy, I now have a full HKS setup with a resonated midpipe and I think the car sounds very nice without any ricey characteristics. Regarding handling, the GT-R at times does feel slightly nervous and 'fast handling' if that makes sense, but it still has more grip, turn-in and overall ability in every scenario. The brakes from high speeds also are a world apart from the BMW, which are still pretty good. (I don't have carbons on the BMW) My M3 has coilovers, GT-R stock suspension. I think if I finally go Ohlins DFV through our shop, the GT-R will probably be one of the best cars I've ever experienced. It's a little heavy and the stock stuff definitely is not as flat as I'd like in the faster corners. Lastly, build quality is not the issue on the GT-R, it's just the attention to interior detail it lacks. The stuff there is good quality and does not seem cheap, it's just basic in comparison to the BMW. The BMW without a doubt has an incredible interior and attention to detail. It's my daily driver and I love that it's so capable and also nice in so many ways. Straight line speed, obviously the GT-R kills the M3, but that's not fair. The M3 is stock+tune. GT-R has FBO+turbo upgrade, so really it's a useless comparison. |

GTR is a much more special car than the F8X.
I drive a souped up 4-series. I drive Godzilla. I'd just get the newest GTR in the budget rather than go the F8X route personally.

I’ve just sold my Gtr for an m4, and it’s a different animal altogether, but with a little work like stage 1 tune and exhaust, it will be as good as the Gtr without the ridiculous maintenance and repair bills 😎
