**********s Rear Spoiler

Bought this and it doesn't seem to cover the factory spoiler on the trunk lid. Am I doing something wrong or is it just a bad fit?

Two things....
1. they don't cover the factory spoilers they replace it. You have to remove the old one

2. the F80 M3 & F82 M4are different. That might be a F82 M4 spoiler and your profile shows you have a F80 M3

Exactly, what I was thinking. The F80 M3 has a different trunk line, so the F82 M4 spoiler will not fit. You hopefully, can return it and get the appropriate spoiler to fit your model.

It's the correct spoiler, I thought it would fit over the factory spoiler since it's so small but I guess an hour with a hair dryer is in my future

Save your time with the hair dryer, it is not needed. Get some fishing line or dental floss and just pull through the old tape. Then get a 3M Stripe Off Wheel at amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I literally was done with all the old adhesive in under 20 minutes, I didn't need a hair dryer and I never used harsh chemicals on my trunk. It is the best invention ever for cleaning up old adhesive in preparation for a new spoiler install.

You can thank me after you are done and realize it was worth the money.

+1. Just make sure you are pulling up when working through the existing adherent.

That's the first I've heard of someone trying to put a spoiler over another spoiler..🤨

+1 I used one of these for my spoiler install and it's a life saver.

The stock one is like 3cm. It would make total sense for an after market CF spoiler to fit over it.

I had the same thought but realized as soon as I got my CF spoiler that was not the case
