Carmax/Vroom offers today, for reference

I was just curious to see what some of these companies would offer for the car, and figured I’d post the info. Hope it helps to provide a reference point for anyone looking to buy/sell an f82.

Carmax offered 55k- they seem to have implemented a new appraisal system as they didn’t do the “sit down and discuss” like they used to, they actually missed a few of the options that the car has. Nonetheless, offer seemed very low… and then…

Vroom offered 52k.

KBB offer from a local Audi dealer came in at 54k.

2018 M4, MW with full amaro leather, competition and executive packages. The car is 10/10 inside and out, with original and CPO warranty. 14900 miles. Hope this helps!

Prices are coming down slightly. I had a 2018 f80 dct w/ 30k miles
Carmax 54
Kbb 53
And this was a few weeks ago

These companies have these cars that they bought for such high prices so they are listing them for 60k which is keeping the market up. A lot of new cars are coming in and the prices should be dropping in upcoming months I hope.

A couple of months ago Carmax offered me $48K for my '16 M3, 34K miles, DCT, well optioned. Vroom & True car offered less. I sold it to Carmax. They initially tried to sell it for $53998 and have dropped the price a couple of times. Last time I looked they wanted $47998 for it.

yo!

Prices are for falling. And the dealers are starting to feel the pinch. But I am surprized at how many cars have not budged on price. Private sellers included. I run nationwide M3 and M2 searches on CarGurus almost daily, and there have been some cars on there for months.

The reason I have an f80 is I received a rediculous offer from Vroom, $1K over what I paid for it a year ago, and the local dealer that had the car I have now was willing to match it. The day I picked up my f80, I got a "revised" offer from Vroom for $4k less than the original offer. Carvana's price dropped by $1k.

Odd to me the market is already coming down as the chip shortage is not getting better soon. I am just glad I was able to pull off the deal I did during this rediculous market. It will never happen again.

Between $63-68k for my 17k mile 2018 M3 CS in Lime Rock a few months ago. I might try again just to see. I see similar spec cars in the $70k and up range used.

Someone gonna pay more someone gonna pay less.

When I found the car I was looking for I bought it; zero negotiation on price. I got them to replace a cracked emblem in the seat that you couldn't really even notice.

You're enjoying the car and obviously have the money to do so…

Some will never have the honor of saying I paid to much for my M3…

I went there when the prices were at their peak, and I was quoted 38K on a '15 M4 with 43K miles. Ended up keeping the M4 instead of getting a Polestar S90.

I’m with you, except my stock top mount did just fail

Don’t see why there’s a big push to sell these cars and have had permanent dafuq face during the pandemic. Truly baffled as I don’t see better for the buck, but I guess that’s where that whole completely subjective detail of preference comes to play.

I bought my 2018 M4 ZCP 6MT from Carmax in May 2021. It was $59,998. 11k miles.

I only looked at Carmax because their prices were lower than private and retail. But mostly because I wanted that Carmax warranty on a car I bought to track the hell out of. I got 4 more years and 75k miles.

Winter is also coming so I feel the market generally goes down a bit around this time of year. If the chip shortage persists maybe there will be another spike in the spring?

Winter and snow/wet/inclement weather is the best time to buy a sports car or motorcycle
Bad time to be selling one
My last 3 NEW car purchases have been end of November
