Second m car of this generation, first was a 2015 M4 and now a 2018 M3, never heard one creak or high pitched noise from seat lights in either of them.

Just my 2c... Mine make a high pitched buzz only when they fade on/off. They're silent when fully lit.

Started with the high pitched whine then 20 seconds later it transitioned to a buzz. 3k miles on my '18 comp. In other news, no rattles... yet. Last edited by Tall Tom Cruise; 07-09-2018 at 05:21 PM.. |

Mine buzz when they fade on/off.
I don't know why it matters, they're never lit when you're driving, they only come on with the welcome lights. Happening on my 2017 F80 and now my new 2018. I really don't care.

This is normal. Mine Buzz when they fade on and then when they fade off it goes. Just a quirk with them. What is the point being so picky about such a trivial thing!

I have the same thing. Found another thread of how the dealer were to fix it and the fix is pretty invasive. I don’t want any trim or leather pulled just to try and “correct” the noise. I dread any interior fixes by the dealer.

I'd be worried about an invasive fix as well. When I received my M3, the leather piece next to the cupholders can with the wrong stitching. Dealer offered to have it replaced by that required replacing the entire center console. I declined since I didn't want my car to come back with 1,000 creaks after 1 week of ownership.
