Stock Exhaust Sagging...?
So... Just the other day I noticed on my M4 that the left 2 exhaust tip and can is sagging noticeably lower than the right...I thought it was my eyes at first and then drove to work. I then noticed when I got out of the car that it was sagging a bit even more....and then when I got home, a little bit more again.
I then just lifted the exhaust a bit and heard a click and stayed up, however still a little lower than the right side. Took it to the dealership today and t hey couldn't find anything wrong and they said that it can be just that it rests a bit lower. They sa id even on a new M4, the left side sagged 2mm lower than the right and mine just sags a bit more than normal. But they said nothing is wrong.... Anyone else know how to fix this? its starting to get to me that my exhausts are uneven.. |

check the bolts on the rubber hangers? But I'm guessing the dealership did that already.

yeah, I checked the plastic and everything... the dealership even swapped the plastic brace on both sides to see if it changes the sag side and it didn't.... This is really bizarre.... I don't know how to fix this lol

Can you post a pic showing how one side "sags" more than the other side? It would help if we could see it to try and help diagnose it.

First Pic is the comparison between the 2 exhaust sides. You can tell the left is slightly sagging.
The Second Pic is of the Right 2 Exhaust pipes. As you can tell, it is closer to the stock diffuser as compared to the third pic. This Last pic is of the last 2 exhaust pipes. You can tell its definitely lower than the right as you can visibly see the heat shield... |

Again, the thing that bothers me is that the dealership said theres nothing that can be done as theres nothing loose or broken.... does this mean I have to deal with an uneven exhaust...? :\

Using your picture and drawing some straight lines, I don't see anything out of whack.

Nah it was measured, It was definitely sagging on the left. Its more noticeable when you see it in person. I wasn't centered completely too when I took these pics.
If you were to draw a straight line on the 2nd and 3rd pic, you'll see the sag. |

I guess I can see some sort of sagging on the left side. It does seem more pronounced than the right side. Maybe one of the urethane hangers is stretched out a little too much. Not sure there is any adjustability on the stock exhaust. Check the hangers, maybe one is stretched.

The dealer swapped the urethane hangers from the left to the right to see if the right side sags and it didn't...the left side continued to sag a bit.

Are you sure its not just the tips that are lower on one side? They could be welded slightly differently.
Personally id just ignore and drive the car, they look fine to me and I doubt anyone else will ever notice.
