Does anyone else notice how much more flare the M3 has to its fenders than the M4? If I recall correctly the regualr 4 is wider than the regular 3 so the M3 would need more fender flare to accommodate if they're still going to be close to the same car underneath.

There are interresting questions regarding the suspension:
1. Will it be EDC only or can we still get a passive optimally tuned spring/damper setup?
2. Will ars be an option as it is for the 991? ( Porsche claims 5s decrease in Nordshliefe track times with PDCC ).

I personally would like both to be true. That we can get passive springs and damper with the option to add ars.

As far as I'm concerned they can skip EDC. Ars will provide a better ride quality than a button to select over damped / under springed or the opposite. I'm not a fan of EDC but will accept it if it's forced on us.

Between CF seats and carbon BBK I see a $12,000-$13000 option...

I do not think that BMW will be shy with pricing... this sucker will exceed the E92 M3 Frozen Editions in MSRP with just "normal" options.

1) First off, doesn't the RS5 offer these CF seats in the North America? Why can't BMW do the same?
2) Power dome was initially designed to add to the fact that there's a big V8 under the hood. Now there isn't, so... I don't see why they kept it, but I love how it looks, so I'm all for it!
3) Just tryin' to make sure, the engine sound we're listening to from the first video is indeed an S65 V8 M3's right?

I am sure it will be a nice street car.

I believe weekend BMW track junkies will have to go somewhere else.

The RS5 in North America does not have the trick European seat options, unfortunately.

Source: My coworker has an RS5 and tried to order the car with those seats.

Baby got back! Liking the way this is coming together, seems like they are trying take make the car sharper in many ways. Hopefully it's heart (engine) and soul (steering/handling) match it.

If this car is 200 lb less than the e90, that will be an accomplishment, considering all the safety stuff, not to mention the s55 will weigh more than the s65. The V8 weighed less than the s54 right? I can't imagine a 6 in a row with a bunch of turbo plumbing will weigh less... of course it will produce more torque, similar hp, and use dramatically less fuel, making it a winner as long as the response is near instant (it will be) and it sounds cool (it does).

This car will be nothing short of a perfect 10.

The exhaust note in the second video has grown on me, the F82 M3 we see is going about 30 mph but we can clearly hear a high pitched high reving engine. I'm psyched to hear it in person with an aftermarket exhaust!!

The s65 is lighter than the s54 bc the block on the i6 is a cast iron block, which is good for FI and big power, while the s65 and every other newer motor in the automotive industry is an aluminum alloy.

E46 M3 had a power dome for no reason other than it looked good. No clearance issues at all. It's more of a trademark to differentiate the M cars from the normal 3er.

M3/M4 is shaping up to be a nice daily

Also the chase car they shot the video from sounds sick! Any details? I take it is not a stock e90/2 M3, no?

They didn't mention the side vents in the intro... You can clearly see the design on the silver M4 and you pretty much see the entire car

I believe the dome in the middle can serve to split the air flow around the a pillars which at certain vectors can reduce drag but would reconverge between the double bubble... They mentioned the aerodynamics in previous threads and mentioned the lci 350z hood in comparison

The muffler looks more tucked than it previously did as well

The M3 looks like it borrowed cues from the C63... It looks more flared and aggressive
