The stage 3 non brushless achieves higher flow through a second pump outside of the bucket (a brushed pump). This pump is intended to be triggered by a Hobbs switch, which requires running an additional vacuum line and having a binary on/off activation function which some people don't like. You also have the aspect of the second pump being outside of the bucket, which means it's more likely to fuel starve on high G cornering.

The stage 3 brushless option is a single pump option that upgrades the brushless primary pump in the bucket to achieve more flow. Less complexity, less risk of fuel starvation, and still controlled by the DME.

So I got quoted $3,600 for 6 injectors and the lift kit. What does everyone think this seems a bit high…. I guess I see why everyone goes port..

Is that including a whole new vacuum pump or just the cam lobe kit? Are they BMW or Bosch brand injectors. Share a pic of your quote.

Parts alone are $2500 from Dorch for the full kit plus a set of injectors. Why not ask mike@x-ph.com for his “best price”?

This is if I provide the injectors and lift kit haha!! He said he’s open to make a deal, but I think Ima just choose a different shop. FCP Euro has the injector kit for $560. All in all it’s about $1960 in parts. What’s a good price just for the labor. Dudes quoting me damn near 27-30 hours lol…

Ah, I'm not familiar with Houston. Relative to SoCal that quote seems high. Should be well south of $2k.

So what price should I shoot for on the lift kit? $1,000 even?

The vacuum pump is under your TMIC and intake manifold, and HPFPs. There’s quite a lot of work. I can’t say what the job should cost alone. I did it with my built engine.

1-2 days of work for a good shop.

Why is it so involved? I can’t comprehend it.

Edit: I wonder what I could achieve with EU5 and stage 3 lpfp instead since a lot of us skip that and just do lift kit EU5. I wonder what the limit would be for EU5+S3 LPFP

If I recall my Dorch HPFP install was around $1400 and was a 12hr job (book time).

For a car running pump 93/94 what are the power levels where fueling should be upgraded? I will be installing a 4n single turbo kit with the efr 8474 over the winter and will be sticking to pump gas. e85 is not available around my neck of the woods. trying to plan out whether I should be upgrading the fuel system or how far i go. Car is primarily used on the track so its not going to be an all out power build.

Running pump gas should not require any sort of fueling upgrades. You’ll hit the knock resistance threshold before the fueling limits. Here’s a thread to look at, I would message the OP since he’s running the same turbo/turbo kit. https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1985105

Stock fuel system should handle pump or racegas without a problem. If you hit a limit later it’s an easy upgrade to M5 injectors.

Well after debating on spending more money on my build I decided to abandon the EU5's and just purchased the Nostrum Stage 3 injectors which flow 35% more than the Eu5. Hopefully this resolves any fueling limits.

There are a decent number of us hitting ~700's with EU5 through the thread. Around that point you're hitting the limits of what a factory motor wants to do anyway.
Agreed was also sitting at the right below the 700 mark on the Eu5's, which unfortunately failed on me with less than 1000 miles, so now it's built motor time!

With the standard Stage 3 Brushless, it does add the variable of a secondary pump, which means more hoses that could leak/fail.

The Stage 3 Brushless is easy to install, not fighting an external secondary pump. ECU is happy.

I got my car to over 725whp without LPFP breaking a sweat, running a very appropriate fuel strategy for road course.
Those are really solid numbers and I'm running the Pure Stage 2 HF's as well and made 685/670 without the LPFP, but new setup will include the brushless.
