The reflectors I believe are US federal mandate. Not in our cars in Aus for example...

The F80's involvement in the discussion is really an anomoly limited to the headlights and perhaps other incidentals that carry over from 4 Series to 3 Series. Well, I say that assuming that the digital gauges won't fall into that category. On the other hand, given the parts sharing between the two, it is technically possible they could. Edit: Ok, so the 3 Series is indeed getting the optional digital gauge display: http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1344371. So you're right, this would have been just one more thing to irk those who thought their LCI F80 would be the ultimate in updates for that model. But since this is coming to neither the M3 nor M4, that potential major controversy is avoided. |

Wow I gotta say that video was pretty good except for the "enhanced" engine/exhaust noises.
I did LOL at the "Best Laps" board that showed the F83 convertible matching the lap times of the F80/82 though

Pferdestärke (ps) is simply a language translation for Horsepower (hp), there is no technical differentiation between the two terms. The technical differentiation lies in the standard used (DIN or SAE). Look at BMW.CO.UK, they use the DIN standard in the UK and the M3/4 are listed at 431hp/450hp Using ps and hp to differentiate between DIN and SAE respectively is just internet/forum jargon.

M Cars are always analog gauges. 6 Series has DDC, M6 does not. It's part of the M DNA.

New LED headlights definitely look better than the old headlights. Glad to see them on the M3 also.
The silver ZCP wheels define the ZCP package. Why would you want to make them black and lose all the precious detail of those wheels? I absolutely despise the black trim though. The black badges, kidney surrounds, side marker, and black exhaust tips... ugh horrible. |

Ok, so that's an existing color then. Looks different from what I'd seen here in pics, but I guess it's lighting (?).
http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1177784 So, unless that blue on the M3 in the video is something other than either Tanzanite Blue or Azurite Black, I don't think there are any new M3/M4 colors. Edit: per pics below, M3 is definitely not Azurite, and doesn't really look like Tanzanite either, but hard to say. |

Either BMW had a change of strategy or they will be announced at a later date.

This is so stupid. Fake stitching on plain plastic... At least use sensatec on the dashboard if you really want to make stitching standard.
