I replaced my oem suspension for coilovers at 74k miles. I did not know they were bad until I removed the old shock absorbers. The ride quality degraded over time but nothing that was very obvious that they were bad. To define bad - My front shock absorbers could easily be compressed and did not come back up at all unless manually pulling the shaft.

Nice, so they are durable.

My car has 33k only and I was asking a what mileage the shocks will be losing the performance.

What coil overs you mounted?

I went with Ohlins Road & Track. I daily drive, autocross and track the car.

Thanks for the recommendation! Are those models compatible with EDC?

Did you retain the EDC after the installation?

And what pads you use? The same for both activities or you change for track?

Yes, you get both EDC and non-EDC versions of the B6. The B6 will ride slightly higher than OEM, so best paired with Eibach Pro springs. Else go for the B4 shocks.

Can buy here:
https://www.demon-tweeks.com/

EDC B6 Part numbers:
Front L: 31-246200
Front R: 31-246217
Rear L: 26-245591
Rear R: 26-246970
Nice option, and inexpensive!

Can I see how your car looks?

I like the EDC control, I hope it behave well after the change.

I did not retain EDC. I coded out EDC but I am happy with the suspension setup right now. Ohlins are 1 way adjustable.

I have been using Carbotech AX6 pads for both autocross and track but they are nearly done. I will be getting Carbotech XP12 for track and sticking to OEM pads for autocross.

If you track more than you DD, I understand you eliminated EDC. Öhlins manufacture exceptional suspensions anyway!

Carbotech AX6 leaves less dust the original pads?

These are B6 Damptronics and Eibach (Euro version E10-20-031-09-22) (not my car, but another member's in my area)
Looks good, especially in the front where the gap is reduced.

I have 2016 w/ passive suspension. Will replacing OEM shocks with Bilstein improve harshness and/or handling?

Bilstein B6 with Eibach springs https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1750119

Here is an M2 on passive suspension with B6 dampers.

I am one of the few who have passive oe dampers too and looking to replace next year. I have yet to see an M3/M4 on non-edc bilsteins, but the guy with the M2 in the linked thread seems to love them.

Thanks to both of you for responses. Think I'm going Eibach/B6
