Ad Sub to Vert...worth it?

I have a custom sub/amp combo from my M6 that fits well in the boot of the M4 vert's trunk. I understand that the install is a bear due to virtualy hidden batery. Not sure it will be worth it, HK system has decent bass and I listen to podcast more than music.

Anyone add a trunk mounted sub to their vert? How does it sound. Any issues installing?

I have one in my vert, but it is not in the trunk. It is in the space between the back seat and the trunk. So you will lose the space to store your wind deflector.

See this post here as it has some pics: https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...9&postcount=92

The subwoofer is a powered JL Audio Powerwedge + http://www.jlaudio.com/acs110lg-tw1-...-systems-93334

It will fit with a slight bit of modification to a bracket in the space between the trunk and the seat. You will have to provide it signal via a LOC of some sort and of course power, but you don't lose any trunk space or have problems with the convertible top area.

Hope that helps.

Very much worth it! The battery is somewhat of a bear to get to, however I learned from someone else in the forum that opening the convertible top half way (at point where trunk opens fully) will allow you to more easily remove the cover/panel over the battery. What took 20 minutes to contort my body and wrestle to remove the panel now only takes 5.

I've included an old post of how I did mine. Sounds awesome top up or down.

Sub install worth it

Thanks. I already have the sub and amp, just have to arrange for install.

Here is the old install in my M6. I checked fitment and it slides in M4 and will not interfere with top

I know this thread is a bit old, apologies. Why did you go with the 10 inch and not 12? Is the enclosure smaller? The bass tighter? With only a 50 dollar difference I wonder if I could get away with the 12.
