Nah, my neighbors need to hear that insanely bad cold start exhaust sound too. I'm kind enough that I generally won't open the garage in the morning until it has quieted down just a bit though. That's enough for me.

I'm going to go against the grain here but I use my M4 as a daily so Eco is normal for me on the Motorway (Highway to you American folk).
But that being said, the journey home from work is ALWAYS in S+ Lets be honest, nobody wants to get to work quickly |

I do.
For me, the most appealing aspect of the M3/4 is its dual nature. I mostly use Efficient for my daily drive along with Comfort EDC/EPS, S1 DCT and MDM which are in my M1 button setting. It makes for a very sedate drive and I am less inclined to drive aggressively that way. I also very much enjoy the deep purr the MPE makes with the valves closed. My Sporty setting is in my M2 button with everything in Sport+, DCT in S2 and DSC in MDM. My dry track setting is Sport+ for engine/EDC/EPS, S3 DCT and DSC off.

I guess that puts me in the middle, I always switch to sport for most of my driving...I have been trying sport + a bit more lately, but...and I know I'm in the minority...I like the rev matching in sport...I know I'm a shitty driver, so a bit of help from the rev matches is fine by me, I'm still having a blast hahaha!

I don’t like Sport + on the street. Throttle too touchy at low speeds and i don’t like the car burble-farting its way for half a block after i let off the gas.

I use Sport+ when I'm somewhere that I can actually make use of it. Around my development and in-town, I use Sport some of the time, but on long trips I stay in Eco. That's how I'm able to get 30 highway mpg.

I'm always in Comfort steering mode. I don't like the feel of the other modes.
Street, I'm very rarely in Sport + anything, I find it to annoying, especially the touchy throttle. I'm a 50/50 mix of Eco/Comfort for commutes and Sport/Sport. For the track I'm usually Sport + suspension and Sport throttle as others have mentioned and I also feel it is still too touchy for my taste. |

I noticed that the engine temp runs lower while in Sport+ so I've updated my M1 button from Sport to Sport+ for that reason alone and drive in that mode the whole time from start. I'm assuming the lower temp is better for the engine but not sure if my logic is flawed.

I usually mix up my morning commute as a part of it is slow side streets/traffic, then once I get on the highway beyond the rush hour traffic, I can open it up a bit. So it's usually 50/50 M1/M2 driving, with the following settings:
M1: Throttle Sport, Suspension Comfort, Steering Comfort, D2, TC on M2: Throttle Sport +, Suspension Sport, Steering Sport, D3, MDM on |

That said, I havent seen any reports of the F8x suffering from increased oil temps at the track whether in sport+ or any other mode. So it seems as if BMW really over-engineered the cooling here. |
