Thoughts on fascia "fangs" removed?

Hi everyone, what do you think of my cruddy photoshop? I'm not sure which I like better.

Initially, photoshopped one looks better. But I then realized those vent size seems a bit out of proportion.
Better version would be something similar to second one but make it smaller like original.

Hmm, first I will protest on the word fangs, they are more like gills.

This was the first time I even noticed those, and I have to agree, the second picture looked better, and then it did not. It comes off as a weak chinned edition in the second one, after the first look.

This being a matter of taste, I will add my usual disclaimer: I own a Jack Russell.

(sorry, I don't know the words for this stuff in English)

I must add, that in the second photo, the lower bits reminded me of Hercule Poirot's face!

I like both actually.

but I'm going with the original better. I love all the little angles and whatnot that draw your eyes.

I prefer the m3 to the m4 for that same reason. I like the clutter of design rather than the smoother.

Better, but the car needs a lot more work.

Well, it's cute. It has a presence but not at all as prominent as the old one. Maybe we will just learn to love it.

I saw the old one today at a grocerystores parking lot. Had to go and tell the owner that I hate him. It was just a cruel move to come and pic up milk at the same time as i did, and while chatting, I got to see all the things that made me hate him more.

This Microsoft area is killing me, the cars are great, and it's like they don't even appreciate it! Damn.

Given the option, I think I would have gone with picture number 2. But then, there has to be a reason why those air directional pieces were installed there. It was definitely not just for looks.

I think if you cut out the fangs you will loose a significant cooling advantage and will pretty much ruin the down force dynamics at the nose of the car, which makes it very likely the front of the car would loose traction and the nose would lift at speeds in excess of 50mph, at which point the car would most likely overheat mid-air and explode. I don't know man, it's risky.

Im sure there will be a few amazing aftermarket applications once the car is out for a few, but as it stands now I kinda of like the those little pieces. I think the performance carbon lip and additions to the front will be a must for my car, those really make the front of the car look great

I wouldn't mess with the aero, I'm sure BMW put a lot of research into these aspects and what looks great aftermarket will not be as effective as stock.

I don't really care for front bumper of the car this time, but original is still better of the two

I am sort of partial to the tan-striped Mohawk, which looks dashing on either car.

Nice job Oakleyguy.

I like the look without those pieces. However, I am betting that BMW spent a lot of time in the wind tunnel and put a lot of effort into the design and airflow. I wouldn't want to mess with it due to that.

I think from a design standpoint the "fangs" make the car more aggressive being that they emphasize the slant of the head lights thus making the care look more aggressive.

I like the look of the photoshopped pic, but I personally would not mess with the front fascia of the car, knowing how much optimization work went into the cooling system and aerodynamics.
