Hi guys
Out of nowhere, my hood latch bowden box retainers are broken.

There are 2 clip retainers, one is completely gone and one is loose

Now I am using double side tape to hold it but not that well since its 2 cables keep pushing it up (not sure how to explain but the way cables align cant make the box lay flush)

Any idea how to fix it without replace the whole cable and box?

From the diagram at realoem.com (https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...96#51237239240), it looks like it's #4, Bowden cable, hood, front, part #51-23-7-411-315.
getbmw.com (https://www.getbmwparts.com/oem-part...le-51237411315) sells it as Release Cable for only $23.21.

At realoem.com, they also show two pipe clips, part #17-12-7-609-160, but they're not shown in the diagram and getbmwparts.com doesn't have a picture. From your picture I can't tell whether those clips can be removed and replaced. If they can, it looks like an easy and inexpensive fix.

Thank you mate
The clips cant be removed. The cable is not expensive and I really want to replace only if it's easy.

To me, one broken clip but need to do lot of works is stupid design

Not if it's related problem but I have to pull hood lever 3 more times until the hood unlatched.

You haven't listed your model or year, but it doesn't look like it's an M3 or M4, although that shouldn't make a difference.

Is your car still under warranty? If not, I'd order the cable and pay an independent garage to do the work. Shouldn't cost you more than $100 total.
