Bay Area: Curbed Wheel Repair Cost

Was just quoted $350 to repair 1 curbed 437M wheel (black w/ tinted clear) - does this sound right? Pic attached if it helps.

Never curbed a *nice* wheel before so I really have no idea what the market rate is

Seems a bit high, I was quoted $200 at a few places. I've still not taken my wheels in to get fixed, but will do soon.

This place has good reviews:

That's about 100-150 at highly rated shops in OC and SD. 350 is way too high

Just got a few more quotes comeback including $230 from a dealer, so that’s set the upper bound for me. Thanks for replies all, I’ll be sure to update the thread with what I go with and results

That was based on how minor mine were scratched but I wouldn't say more than $100

Got it done at BMW concord for $200 (My SA is Chris G., great dude). Range of quotes were from $160 and up. I will note that West Coast repair in Fremont was the lowest priced and came very highly recommended online and actually by other shops (as they couldn’t do tinted clear) - so very worthwhile checking out if you’re looking. I chose to pay extra at the dealer for the convenience and timing relative to my upcoming schedule, as I wouldn’t be able to get down to Fremont for a while. The line isn’t 100% perfect but for that it would require a cut all the way around the wheel, so I’m happy with the results - especially since the tinted clear is 100% OEM match so no one will ever really notice once on the car. Also, they got it done in 5 hrs! That’s ridiculously fast so props to them for that.

Son Tran but he’s in So Cal. Would’ve had that done in 30 mins and you’d be hard pressed to tell where the original damage was.

He’s done several wheels for me in the past and even a bronze Volk wheel with textured surface.

The dealership in concord may have taken it to a wheel repair shop call Riteway Wire & Wheel in Walnut creek. I got my curb rashed fixed and I believe it was 100 bucks. While I was waiting i saw couple dealership cars roll-up.

I actually really wanted to go to Riteway given their stellar reviews and awesome work seen from pictures! However, they were significantly more expensive than even the dealership (1.5x), mainly due to the tinted clear.

How much does he charge per wheel?

It’ll depend on the wheel. You’ll have to give him a call to get a quote. It’s been a while.

I paid $100 for my bronze Volk iirc
